  • The wrong part is making them exclusive to Tesla but you don’t right a wrong by committing another wrong: this is not valid ground to revoke a business license

Fix the exclusive part. Every dealership is limited to five locations: Tesla, Rivian, Jones Honda, etc. and yes, a manufacturer that controls a market can not compete against a dealership in that market. Fair. Consistent.

Then sue and try musk for his horrible actions. The rule of law should be impartial: if you don’t want to support his companies, don’t. If you find like minded people, great. Your actions are based on your morals, but law should be objective

  • Revenge only plays their game, further devalues the rule of law and fair markets.

Personally I like the compromise that any manufacturer without dealerships shouldn’t require them. Dealerships are some of the scammiest businesses we have but it’s unfair to allow a manufacturer to compete with a dealer when that manufacturer controls the market. But if there are no dealers why should one be required? Good riddance: they’re not a social good

  • That’s awfully absolutist of you not seeing the huge difference in scale, the blatant ignoring of checks and balances, states rights, and the resulting constitutional crisis. Never before have so many government leaders so blatantly committed so many acts of corruption while holding themselves above the law. Never before have we so intentionally cut so many services and intentionally disrupted the economy so much. Never before have we done so much harm to the US’s stature in the world, damaged our future so much. Previous attempts to ruin education for religious or other malicious reasons have been mostly local, never before has there been such an attempt to control education across the board, everywhere, at every level

  • Same here. Never any noticeable performance issues. I’m happy with this choice, given low cost, energy efficiency, stability. I also like that I can dedicate the hardware to HA, whereas I’d be tempted to share if I had a more capable box

However I only have a couple dozen devices and don’t attempt to run anything intensive like voice processing, image recognition, or any sort of media streaming.

  • Seriously. I replaced my wireless with a mesh during COVID. I spent way too much to get WiFi6 when it was new, now 5 years later …

Wifi7 is available, it is only gigabit Ethernet, and most importantly some promised features were never delivered and it never really got stable. I’m ready to replace it

I may update Ethernet to 2.5g first

  • Not dimmable unfortunately, and changing that would be far more complicated and expensive than you’d believe

I actually do the slow dim in a different room- that’s an automation I’m more proud of, although most of the credit goes to Inovelli! I have the dimming rates set differently for manual dimming, automated dimming, and good night dimming

  • I’m also concerned with the “fraud, waste and corruption “ that was the infrastructure bill. It’s becoming more and more clear we’re sitting on a timebomb of infrastructure built over a century ago and that we’ve ignored for at least half a century. It’s going to keep getting worse and worse , keep getting more expensive to repair: we’re way past time to invest in infrastructure and that was only the start toward getting back in a decent state of repair.

… just watching a video where they were debating whether it’s worth to rebuild a 137 year old tunnel in heavy use. How is that even a question?
