He isn’t actually flushing the notes, only pretending to, but you’re right. It was interesting to read this as a kid. It taught me empathy because it caused me to sympathize with the babysitter.

This is one of my all time favorite C&H strips. The “ha ha ha ha” after the scream with that facial expression is just immaculate.
It’s amazing how he can convey so much with so little.
