I just read the text of this, and it sounds to me like it only mandates a birth date or age field as opposed to full-on age/identity verification.
Still asinine, but not quite as severe as OP’s interpretation if accurate.

I’d love them, but like others have said, not if made by Meta, and not if they rely on sending all my data to cloud services to function.
