offtopic: Other than Trump and MAGAts using it, such capitalization could look interesting. As something, indeed, characteristically American. And it might make texts more legible sometimes (I’m not joking), a bit like with Bionic Reader.

Most people dreaming of conflict do.
Not me, I just have ADHD and seek conflicts to not get bored.
Her views on economics (MMT) are like RFK junior’s views on vaccines, but they are both infinitely better than the two cripples competing.
(Just my two cents from Moscow.)
When it’s not E2EE, maybe they are right. What’s the point of encrypting something that gets decrypted midway by an organization with hundreds of employees, many of them with access, not even talking about law enforcement and accidental criminals.
EDIT: I mean, illusion of security may be sometimes worse that lack of that little security which comes with it. Everything is complex.
I don’t think so, because what I said didn’t mention anything about already having totalitarianism. The means today’s governments have at their disposal allow to achieve most of things done by classic 30s totalitarian regimes without visible violence.
The bad guys know this too, they’ll penetrate your organization (if it’s decentralized, they’ll still poison it with plenty of agents, they’ve got taxpayers’ money), they’ll use your inaction to communicate apathy, they’ll even have something false flag to still cause the effect you’re describing without real people using force. And their media doesn’t need anything real to happen to report it.
Any revolutionary movement will need to hit a point of critical mass that allows it to succeed. It’s hard to gauge just when that point is reached, but if you misjudge, you’ll end up another failed insurrection.
Not hard for a government, no. Anything predictable and organized will not succeed. As chaotic and brave as possible or not at all.
Jules Verne’s moment about electing a judge?..
I live in Russia, I’m having flashbacks of explanations why all the opposition is doing is peaceful protests.
Nah, it doesn’t work. The faster you get to throwing Molotov cocktails, the better.
The country i live in, which is Germany is corrupt and authoritarian with a complicit public and private media as well as the “center” parties moving further to the right and helping fascism rise faster than ever before. The “liberal” middle class are to a large extent just self delusional racists and the country will become a fascist hellhole in the next ten years.
The funniest part is that this has been brought about by the common belief that idealism is stupid and dangerous and leads to fascism, while cynicism is very smart and realistic. One good thing about idealism is that it gives you a reason to fight and sense of good and evil.
What I mean is that idealism, say, 20 years ago would be associated with extremism, neo-Nazis, unreformed Bolsheviks, sect members, radical Islam. But somehow the actual fighting forces sporting all such ideologies work without it too.
As if that “sail” filled not with wind, but with popular emotion were worse than lack thereof, because without it your “boat” wouldn’t be moved from the right (presumably) track. Turns out the “boat” also has “oars”. Evil doesn’t have to be charismatic, although it was that in the 1930s. It can do just fine with apathy and half-consent.
I live in Russia, so meaningful elections are off the menu for a period of time.
The fact that a mod decided that my comment should be removed is telling. See, if we consider that only freaks openly funded by Russia yadda yadda are its hands in Europe, then what I said is harmful, because I’m spreading the attention of the reader to wide. But if what I said is true and European politics are in general, just as well in the West, penetrated by Russian\Azeri\etc influence, with bribing politicians and companies which then lobby for criminal regimes, then what that mod did is much more harmful.
A horrible simplification. Power is what they are fighting for and they are getting it.
This is also what the Putler-backed far right parties in Europe stand for.
In European politics corrupt, and usually by Russia among others, parties encompass much more than these. You can tell easily a not yet poisoned voice when comparing with theirs.
When there’s sufficient popular demand.
The article is not about that anyway.
Something a liar always says first
This website has a search function.
Now think further. You are so fucking close to the answer. This website.
Also why waste time looking for something? I’ll still be right, it’ll only affect what you think.
Ofc, I won’t provide evidence, because as you’re a puppy murderer, I don’t respect you and won’t play by your terms.
Well, because I don’t respect you, I don’t care. So dunno what was this supposed to tell me. That you are running around asking from people evidence of what they’ve seen a few months ago and they won’t? That’s expected.
Have you, or have you not, seen an ML call the Cambodian genocide “justified?”
Yes, after calling it “putting unfavorable elements\burgeoisie\vermin to the wall” or something like that.
Just like I have seen the same with Stalin’s repressions in USSR.
Great, where’s the link?
I don’t keep links for things I don’t need.
Do you keep links of your conversations on the Web?
Oh, I get it. Now that you’ve been caught in a lie, you’re trying to pretend that I was asking for proof of the genocide itself, as opposed to what I actually asked for, which is proof of an ML calling it “justified.” Nice bit of weaseling.
Weaseling is what you are doing in this quote. I openly say that I don’t respect you and thus don’t bother following your turns.
are blatantly lying and making things up by claiming to have seen MLs call it justified.
Almost everybody has seen MLs call it justified, it takes only one case. Maybe you are bad with math and probabilities.
You could argue about this being commonplace or not, but since you are accusing others of lying in the same comment you are asking for proof in, I think everybody reading this has a measure of you.
Providing a link is easy. Providing something you’d yourself strictly agree with is harder. Providing a link that the opponent won’t discard if they want to discard it is possible, but unlikely. I’ve reached that last point with ML’s for a few times.
I mean, assuming that actually happened.
That’s just what fascists say.
What do ML’s say about Khmer Rouge and Xinjiang?
Sigh. How does saying that a certain assassin has turned alcoholic make a one-to-one association between assassin and alcoholic?
Also technically “assassin” is a bastardization of “hashshasheen” or something meaning “hashish smokers”, which was a slur for members of Nizari-Ismaili sect, which is funny in the context of your claim.
I think like half of them still mostly want the protest. Like “we’ll make things bad so you in your delusions would finally see that it was bad earlier too”. Maybe not very logical.
Faced by two bad choices, some people feel it as defiance to pick the worst.
But that’s just about humanity, not about USA, I don’t know anything about the USA, haven’t even been there.
