I would add to it that one should not go above and beyond anymore because corporations do not show you the loyalty that you give them. It’s not quiet-quitting, It’s working to the exact rule and to the letter of the job description; no more than that.

Absolutely! If you ever do any amount extra, let it be small reciprocal stuff for your coworkers, not free labor for your boss or the shareholders.
I enjoy my job and I am making a difference in technology. I go above and beyond when I want to almost exclusively. I’m well paid and rewarded for my efforts.
The company and I are square every 2 weeks. The people and connections are owed my loyalty.
As it should be. I can imagine the frustration of anyone who isn’t or at least doesn’t feel valued at their workplace, but there is a lot of fulfilling work out there.
