The only reason nothing is gonna happen is because Republicans want the credit for it. Until then, everything is just a distraction.

If only there was some way we could negotiate, maybe propose laws from 2 different bodies and work out differences between “do nothing at all” and “murder everyone crossing the border for any reason”?

Alas anyone claiming to be centrist and willing to debate is probably just trying to radicalize you to their side.

I’m glad Stewart is back to poke the hornets nest.

We need more politicians like this who are willing to hold anyone accountable, regardless of what letter is next to their name.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) said if President Biden takes executive action to restrict migrants seeking asylum at the southern border, he would be making a “mistake.”

“This would be an extremely disappointing mistake,” Jayapal wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in response to CNN’s reporting that Biden is considering blocking those who cross into the United States illegally from filing an asylum claim.

“Democrats cannot continue to take pages out of Donald Trump and Stephen Miller’s playbook — We need to lead with dignity and humanity,” she added, referring to the former president’s senior adviser.

Jayapal’s warning comes as Biden continues to face pressure to take action to curb the influx of migration at the southern border and an asylum system that even many Democrats have said is broken.

CNN’s reporting, while indicating no decision had been made by the White House on future steps, said the action under consideration “involves using an authority known as 212f between ports of entry to try to clamp down on unlawful border crossing.”

“No executive action, no matter how aggressive, can deliver the significant policy reforms and additional resources Congress can provide and that Republicans rejected,” he added.
