Until one party controls enough of both houses they can get everything they want. Or until Democrats control enough that they can force a compromise.
the democrats are the current conservative party. republicans at this stage are flat-out fascists.
there is no progressive movement left in the united states that can accomplish anything.

Sometimes I think everything that Democratic party leadership wants is just a compromise, regardless of what kind of policy they get out of it
They are obsessed with Bi-Partisanship. That died with the Tea Party IMO and the dinosaurs just don’t get it.
