He’s not perfect. I don’t care.
He’s not progressive enough. I don’t care.
He’s not well-spoken. I don’t care.
He’s not young. I don’t care.
He’s not a demagogue hellbent on destroying democracy and the justice system to avoid prison time for betraying the country and directing an act of violence against it. I care.
Trump absolutely, positively cannot be allowed to win. We know what he will do, and it will end this country.
This isn’t a fucking rehearsal. This is the main electoral event of our lives, the election that really signifies a crossroads for America. Are we going to continue being a country? Then Trump needs to lose, and end his grotesque life behind bars.

You can’t fix this, neither can you brow beat people into ignoring Biden’s flaws. He’s gotta be a better candidate, and if he can’t, we need to swap him out now to still have a chance.
If Biden isn’t going to improve as a candidate (he can and needs to), then your only additional option is to swap out the candidate.
Biden is too popular among rank-and-file Democrats. That means barring something completely unpredictable happening, or Trump’s legal woes finally exceeding his ability to delay justice, this really will be a contest between Biden and Trump.
I’m not going to try to browbeat anyone into ignoring Biden’s flaws. He has them, without a doubt.
What I’m trying to do is remind people that the alternative is Trump. It’s not Biden or Trump or some third party. It’s Biden or Trump. Those are our two choices. Which means that if you want our country to survive, voting for Biden is the unavoidable conclusion. (Again, assuming something utterly unpredictable doesn’t happen.)
He’s not too popular. He’s running unopposed. There’s a difference. No other remotely serious candidate has made a campaign against him, no one has offered a contrasting vision.
He’s either neck and neck or losing among independent voters, depending on the poll you look at.
I’ll be honest with you. I’m going to vote for Biden. I also think he’s going to lose this election because he’s a horrible candidate. If that happens, I’m going to put in for an international transfer within my company and then look for permanent visa status in a European golden visa program. It’s now just a matter of figuring out the finances. I live in one of the most wealthy and most liberal areas in the US, so I think we have a little more lead time than some others, but when the federal government falls - and they’ve literally written down and distributed their plans for doing exactly that - it’s not an island that’s going to last for long.
I don’t know if it’s too late to replace Biden yet. It might be. But I as someone who deals with probability theory and human behavior for a living am feeling 2016, not 2020.
The US - or enough of it to matter - is simply done with democracy. It’ll be studied for several centuries, if anything is.

What you are doing is not unique or special, its browbeating. Its what all of the establishment media outside of rightwing sources have been doing for 18 months.
The lesson you need to learn, right now, is that this strategy you are using, that the Democratic establishment is relying on, its not working. Its not enough to make arguments about how Trump will be worse, when Biden is already bad. Its not working. You are losing this election using this approach.
Which means that if you want our country to survive, voting for Biden is the unavoidable conclusion.
Not if he can’t win the election, and its looking like he can’t.
