This is the best summary I could come up with:

In 1941, Franklin Roosevelt said he was speaking at an “unprecedented moment” in American history — months before the United States would join World War II with the Great Depression still fresh in mind.

The Biden team’s focus on freedom and threats to democracy as a defining electoral issue has often invited criticism from allies, at a time when Americans’ perceptions of the economy, and of the 81-year-old president himself, are also expected to dominate the months ahead.

Advisers understand the importance of Biden’s delivery in answering questions about his age, and agree on the need to help better connect the administration’s economic agenda and accomplishments to the improvements in voters’ everyday lives.

But none of that will matter, aides counter, if America’s democracy falters, a reality the president will starkly warn is possible, and one his advisers say voters have already responded to.

There were voices that thought this was academic — too remote — but now there have been two elections whose results prove that not to have been the case,” the historian Jon Meacham, an informal adviser to the president who helped him prepare his speech, said in an interview.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been traveling on a “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour, made that immediate connection after the release of the Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade and the constitutional right to abortion.

The original article contains 1,026 words, the summary contains 230 words. Saved 78%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Really just sounds like he took Roosevelt’s speech and just gutted it. Roosevelts 4 Freedoms: Speech and expression, worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. Bidens: Freedom to vote and have your vote counted, freedom of choice, freedom to have a fair shot, and freedoms from fear.

Freedom of worship -> freedom of choice is fine, they’re not really equivalent and the latter is way more relevant atm.

    Fear remains unchanged.

Speech and expression -> vote and have your vote counted also kind of not equivalent, but if we’re generous and assume he means having actual democratic power thats fine. Don’t necessarily believe thats what he’s going for but there will be a lot more to the speech I imagine.

Freedom from want -> Freedom to have a fair shot is really pathetic. This is so watered down. From you have the right to abundance in your life to you have the right to get rolled over by a corporation and live in servitude as long as you’re equally as likely to get fucked as your peers.

Also the fact that this article mentions him linking the conflict in Ukraine to freedom but not Palestine is horrific.

Take what progress we can get…

A couple months ago they were really floating “Bidenomics” and stealing Reagan’s shit like trump does.

Even if theyre empty words, copying FDR is better than Reagan.

Still ironic what lead to the end of his first primary in 88 was plagiarism, and 36 years later he’s in another primary, still ripping off other people’s speeches.

Two generations ago this wasn’t acceptable. But Biden hung around long enough for our standards to get this low.

Introducing frimdom. It’s better than freedom. In fact, frimdom is 30% more free than freedom, from the perspective of an oligarch, and why not take the perspective of an oligarch? In frimdom, we bring back slavery, so your boot strapping is much more effective, that the snap of it will propell you out of slavery and into prosperity - if you pull those bootstrap hard enough. Go get em, tiger!

This is also leads to the evolution of trickle-down-economics, with the new pummel-down economics. By creating a flat, hardened base (may contain bonemeal), we create a solid foundation for a plump middle-class and a balloon shaped upper class to form an economic model that looks like the Hindenburg… oh the possibilities!

We believe the combination of frimdom and pummel-down-economics (patent pending) will usher in a new era of peace and prosperity… well, prosperity for the rich anyways.

“We’ll be voting on many issues: on the freedom to vote and have your vote counted, on the freedom of choice, the freedom to have a fair shot, the freedom from fear,” he said near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Unless you live in NH and wanted to vote in the Dem primary…

Also, what intern decided that was a good picture to post?

The font is huge, no more than three words a line, and the first page doesn’t even get past introductions…

How are they going to spin this as Biden “talking on his feet” when he’s just reading off a piece of paper?

Can he really not even remember the introduction? He’s been a part of these for like 50 years by now…
