Maybe migrating to kbin.melroy.org
megopie’s claims seem to be consistent with the Wikipedia article (which mostly cites this Singaporean book), and my experience of it wasn’t directly state-run either; we used the one from Alipay, and it was mainly about availability of and restriction against services.
While the website for that docu seems to be a bit too alarmist for my red flags, the trailer looks pretty good, so I think I’ll give it a try sometimes. Note that my family has no dealings with human rights, so my account may not be accurate.

I couldn’t find any mention of this thread’s headline through my browser’s find function
Leading question.
Edit: For an actual “answer”, some people are in fact taking it to the streets. For your favorite country you can search for it and if you don’t want to do that here’s an article for the US. While you may argue that we should’ve expected this, at the time of financing all we know is that there was a first strike and people were angry. Now it’s different, at least in my local circle.
Either way, this should not be a question for asklemmy. It should be in the politics community or something.
SpaceX I understand, Tesla I disagree with but understand (“the EV future”), but yeah not starlink

Yes. That still doesn’t change how Gecko (which is basically a rewrite of the old Netscape engine) was not released until 2000.
Gecko was probably based on early 90s code but it wasn’t out until 2000. It’s still older than almost everything else though.
Apple didn’t “decide it’s better to use webkit”, they MADE WebKit (from forking KDE). Back when they started WebKit Gecko was only out for a year and heavily associated with Netscape, while KDE’s was already mature
Things without extremes exist. dividing into smaller groups based on what you believe is basically diversity, and I don’t see that you have made the case that these groups are echo chambers. Plus a lot of people believe your argumentative style is very disruptive and ban you for that; I can see why: you always use very extreme, loaded words to label things
Then why are you replying this to a comment about your complaints on censorship?
I just tried loading the website on Epiphany which should be very similar to Safari. I see no issue, though you still can’t collapse comments.
As bad as it is, harvesting user data for an election campaign is not censorship.
Personally the diversity of all things good is part of why they are nice; I consider myself a socialist, but that doesn’t mean everybody has to be the same. But even if we ignore that how would you iron everybody out into the same thing?
It’s supposed to be a stateless condition but the Marxist-Leninism intermediate is just giving most power to a small vanguard that could turn corrupt really quickly.
I didn’t really laugh when Yzma turned into a kitten but the best joke for me was bats
Since a lot of the other ones have been said already I’ll do one that hasn’t been said yet:

Because they’re being carried by an old lady!
They analyzed the data of the Xinjiang files published in 2022.
