Queer people who live in the bible belt still say “y’all”. It literally means “you all”.
Mostly lurking. United States southerner, gay, working retail. An amazing combination

Personal answer: I draw art for a stupidly niche internet community. I’m a less popular artist so I go wear the community already is. I found one other artist on Mastodon and several on Bluesky.
I maintain that what people mistake for porn addiction is just depression or possibly ADHD. Constant masturbation is a series of easy dopamine hits. If you quit cold turkey without making any other changes, you’ll probably just replace it with social media or gacha games.
Yooooo thank you for including audiobooks!
Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. Sometimes my parents let me stay up to watch it, but they stopped after some dumb gag scared me and I started crying.
For people with physical jobs, try a little weight lifting. You don’t have to be the best or lift super heavy weights for it to be useful.
It’s one thing to have signs up at work reminding you to lift with your knees. It’s another thing to really learn, through constant practice, how to move your body safely, and activate muscles you never thought about. You won’t need signs to remind you, and you’re less likely to lift something stupidly and fuck up your joints even if you’re in a hurry, because correct technique will be burnt into your brain.
I know it’s not exactly obscure knowledge but a lot of people don’t bother unless they’ve got some kind of body goal. I’ve found it to be an educational experience even if I’m not a bodybuilder.
Half my customers want me dead and the other half don’t because they don’t notice I’m queer 🙃 I enable them to buy video games that fund transphobic campaigns, toys that fund Israel, and drinks that fund death squads. I could quit my job and die, but the machine would keep turning, I’d just be its latest casualty.
I’ve had mostly terrible interactions with doctors, including them trying me on random SSRIs for nearly a decade before they ran out of options and agreed to try ADHD meds.
I did have one REALLY good interaction with a guy at a walk-in clinic though. Felt my knee while I bent it and told me imaging wasn’t necessary because he could feel the tear. Multiple years of false answers and physical therapy that went nowhere and then I got lucky enough to have a doctor who had the same kind of tear and knew what he was doing.
I change details a lot. Get the catharsis of pouring my soul while hopefully confounding whatever dipshit would think I’m a good target.
My name maybe has some letters in common with “Alice”.
I’m convinced it’s because we want to be loved, but most people will settle for someone just feeling positive about some superficial aspect of them.
Is this a thing? I’d feel like I was punishing a kid for having broke parents.
My family is never going to return the favor. Should’ve gone to school instead of taking care of them.
Nah, I’m pretty tired of the whole idea that liking animals is a prerequisite to being a good person. I was raised by an animal hoarder and I’ve had people lose their shit at me for saying I don’t like birds, or that I don’t date bird owners because I don’t want to live with birds.
I’ve never been cruel to a bird but I’ve had to tell casual acquaintances about my fucked up childhood to get them off my case. That’s not fair. Maybe don’t judge people for such pointless shit.
I thought “I could care less” was a sarcastic way of saying “I couldn’t care less”.
Sonic the Hedgehog soundtracks, specifically the songs with vocals. Haven’t kept up with the series in a while but my playlist has songs from everything from Sonic CD to Sonic and the Black Knight. I’m sure some of it is actually good music and some I only like because it reminds me of Sonic.
I guess it’ll take a few more dates before I show her What I’m Made of…
RSS is so handy, it’s a shame it’s not as supported as it used to be. I used to read a ton of webcomics, not all of them with consistent release schedules, some of them on social media sites I don’t use much, and RSS was how I kept track of them all.
I don’t use Spotify anymore, but I miss Discover Weekly. When it missed, it really missed, but I still found a lot of artists through it.
It’s a joke, he changed his name to Ye

I don’t remember saying anything like that. I just don’t get why being from the bible belt makes it offensive, since again, queer people in the bible belt use it too, and it doesn’t mean anything offensive. If regionalisms are offensive because of where they’re from, it makes me wonder how people feel about my accent.
