Maturing in order to be a better person and partner? It takes so long, it’s annoying because you have to face your own shortcomings, it’s arduous because it doesn’t come naturally to you, it’s hurtful because you have to accept you have been fucking up for ages and God knows who else has suffered because of this trait… but it’s worth it, because your better half requires it.
You can’t just depend on the villain du jour and bloodthirst for unity though. I mean, I guess you can as recent history shows, but you also cannot believe yourself and your country to be anything but a rabid dog and a danger to everyone else…

Yeah, it would take a particularly competent, wise and self-sacrificial dude/tte or team to wrangle the masses of hateful morons, kindly direct them towards thought, morality and prosociality, and make something new out of country that was baptized in the blood of innocents (and loves taking blood baths!).

Yeah, they’re chill, idk. If you enjoy arguments and can handle some friction without breaking down, you’ll fit right in, I think. The only main difference I’ve noticed is that they’re a bit gayer than folks here, or at least talk about it more, and they don’t use obvious American propaganda/party lines as the framework to understand the world.
