That wins material too, but why take the Rook by playing Nb6+ when you can win the Queen by Nf6+ ?
Nxf6+ wins the black Queen.
Yeah I agree. Let them die alone, thinking about Alien abduction and crop circles.
“Stilted”?
You sir, are one of those fucking amazing people who profusely apologize for not being a native English speaker and then blurt out 37 paragraphs of perfect English.
You have nothing to be ashamed of - your English is better than a lot of them native speakers ! And always remember this :
“You are speaking English because that is the only language you know; I am speaking English because that is the only language you know. We are not the same.”
And as to your original question - if I ever ask them “what evidence did you see which proves X happens?”, I have almost always been hit with the reply, “Oh yeah? What proof do you have that says X does not happen???”. And then I tell them the anecdote of the Invisible Dragon by Carl Sagan. Look it up if this is new to you, and for a more formal treatment, check out Karl Popper’s theory of Falsifiability.
I have personally converted at least one conspiracy theorist to being an Agnostic. So I know it works. Try them out, it’s fun.
And I also am not a native English speaker to be honest :-)
Europix for me above anything else. Netflix and Disney can go and self-serve their backsides…
Agreed.
One other thing that Jerboa has but very few other apps do - is the ability to automatically retrieve and put in the header of an article when you are about to post a URL of that article. IMO this is a basic feature that every app should have.
I use Jerboa as well as my main lemmy client (Voyager being the stand by). I like the vintage feel of Jerboa, at the same time can’t deny the fact that Jerboa is the oldest and battle-tested client among all.
The only thing Jerboa is missing is a complete search functionality (currently it just searches for communities).
As soon as the capability to search for posts and communities (IIRC a bug was raised in Jan 2022 for this by dessalines himself) - Jerboa will arguably be the best lemmy app around.
Have tried out quite a few of the apps (was stuck the longest with Voyager, it’s awesome) - but I tend to come back to Jerboa ever so often - may be because it is the oldest Android client for Lemmy, so probably the most tried and tested.
I kinda like the vintage look of Jerboa (and the cool icon) - so as soon as Jerboa gets its search feature enhanced (right now it just searches for communities, not posts or comments - but I hear that work is in progress) - Jerboa will become the best Lemmy app out there, at least for me.
Assuming you are sarcastic - I agree wholeheartedly.
Look up The Invisible Dragon anecdote by Carl Sagan (in his Demon Haunted World book), or for more serious people - Falsifiability principle by Karl Popper, If you haven’t already.
Unless the question specifies which God it is referring to ( Ancient Greek gods like Zeus or Poseidon, Roman Gods like Apollo or Mars, Judeo-Christian God, Hindu Gods etc - or referring to the concept of a “Creator” in general ) - it can not be answered.
Assuming it refers to a “Creator” - then no, I do not see any evidence supporting that Creator.
God is supposed to be All Powerful AND All Good. The current fucked up state of the Humankind clearly suggests that he (or it) is not both of those at the same time.
“…Accessibility for everyone should be a primary concern of the government…”
Totally agree.
But I also think that there is no reason to assume that the Government has any incentive whatsoever to care for people’s welfare.
“…Why must I register my car? A license and insruance should be all I need. I don’t register my shoes. I don’t register my computers. A car is no different…”
You have a very legit question, and I too thought about this.
And I think the reason is just the same as registering your firearms - because in the end your car is a 4,000 lb killing machine.
Everything else you mentioned - I agree 100%
I may be wrong, but of all the apps (Android) currently being developed or planned for development - I think I’ve read that Artemis will support all three - Mastodon, Lemmy and KBin.
This is their KBin magazine
Totally agree with uBO and Privacy Badger. Although I moved away from Decentraleyes and into LocalCDN - because I’ve heard it’s maintained better.
I might come across as an obsolete dinosaur (which I probably am) - but I really enjoyed the tracks from Hitman game series, especially Exploration from Hitman 2 : Silent Assasin, and then became a fan of anything composed by Jesper Kyd.
