18·2 months agoSmells like eugenics.
RFK’s idea about how to make America healthy seems to be to kill everyone who isn’t already immune to the viruses that vaccines protect against.
If the only people who survive & breed are the ones who don’t need expensive medical care, then over time the population’s profit margin increases.
Stop trying to make Republican-lite happen. Its appealing to exactly nobody.

Also, we’re kind of already there, the main difference seems to be that we’re not sacrificing nobles en-mass (yet).
The wiki article makes it sound like a custom born of perceived resource scarcity where they would send some people away so the rest could have more.

8·3 months agoYeah, allowing ICE funding to be discussed separately was a tactical error. It gives up too much leverage and weakens their negotiating position.

33·8 months agoThis move is being framed as a response to an annual stress test, however it also has the effect of reducing inflation without increasing interest rates, raising Federal taxes, or reducing government spending.
Bankers hate it because it reduces their profits, and in different political climates that has been enough to convince donation-dependent politicians to instead raise taxes or cut funding to necessary government programs that benefit the non-donor economic class.

5·9 months agoFor the last 80 years, the consensus in Washington has been a loud and obvious “NO!” its not in USA’s national interest for Europe to be capable of defending itself. Would a clear eyed assessment conclude that circumstances have changed, or have the Republicans consumed too much of their own propaganda and clouded their judgement?

17·9 months agoWhile the panels themselves are smaller and cheaper, the need for the 2-axis tilt might make the total cost of ownership higher because of the increased maintenance, repair, and replacement costs of the moving parts.
It might be better suited to utility scale projects with repair techs on salary.

3·10 months agoYeah, credit where its due. People don’t generally think of Texas or West Virginia as having their shit together, but here we are.

Would it be better if the oligarchs who own the political right wing and the private schools were given exclusive creative control over the curriculum, while elected progressives and the popular majority they represent have none?
