Her quote never really felt that outrageous. She wasn’t even calling all Trump supporters “deplorable”. Here’s her quote
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.” She said the other half of Trump’s supporters “feel that the government has let them down” and are “desperate for change.” “Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well,” she said.
Reminds me of the Trump supporter that was surprised when her undocumented husband got deported.
That was the exact same thing I was thinking while looking at that list.
Obama really did open the floodgates on all the racists. I guess I was really naive, but I had no idea there were so many racist everywhere.
Everyone saying to go to Lemmy after the Reddit thing. I always browsed Reddit through their webpage so the third party app thing didn’t really bother me but I thought the whole Fediverse concept sounded interesting and decided to see what it’s like.
Similar situation as me. I haven’t seen a manual transmission since my brother totaled his truck way back in the day.
Mine Bitcoin when it comes out because they actually will become valuable in the future.
I have a kbin account which I switch to everytime lemmy.world goes down and the only real advantages I see are the better UI and the integrated microblog thing. It’s basically Lemmy and Mastodon wrapped up in a single piece of software.

I regularly rewatch Star Trek, primarily TNG and Enterprise with the occasional DS9 or TOS episode.
It’s been too long so I don’t remember but there were several things I tried to install that required me to add a new repository, install from that, and then fiddle around with config files to get it to work.
Lots of people swear that Linux is easy but that’s never been my experience. It’s always command prompts and config files.
It’s been years since I last used Linux so maybe things have gotten better. I’ll likely be finding out eventually when Win 10 EOL comes because I don’t want Win 11.
I’ve used both regularly for years and went back to Windows when I switched to PC gaming and it’s just so much better. Everything just works on Windows.
Linux really needs to work on improving its user experience if it wants to be a true competitor to Mac and Windows. All these little config tweaks and command line prompts you have to do to get things working on Linux just isn’t going to win a bunch of people over who are used to things being a few clicks on a wizard to get working.
Edit: it’s been years since I last tried Linux so maybe things have changed.
I still use it. The HFY community is still on Reddit and I enjoy reading the stories.
The API changes haven’t really affected my experience since I always browsed Reddit on my desktop through the browser.
I imagine what they’re trying to contain are angry Puerto Ricans living in the US from going out and voting. The higher the voter turnout is, the greater the chance of Harris winning. Making Democrats angry enough to actually go out and vote is definitely something the Republicans want to contain.
