  • Not all mobile apps allow it because it’s a little tricky with the Lemmy APIs.

    • Liftoff used to have thia feature but it’s discontinued;
    • Summit has added this feature, you can access it by “Community info” -> “Instance info” -> “Communities” when you are on a community on the instance you want to explore;
    • RaccoonForLemmy has it in the “Instance info” sheet tapping the “⋮” button in the top bar when you are on a community of the instance you want to explore;
    • I couldn’t find anything similar in Jerboa, Voyager, Thunder and Eternity, don’t know about the other ones.

  • The Old Testament is full of rules and commandments that, taken completely out of context and applied literally, would lead any modern society to collapse. In the west we thought we knew better than bronze age nomadic tribes of the Middle East, after the scientific and industrial revolutions, but in the end we keep going back to the Bible for directions. Fundamentalist christians are no exception. We should review the way we think about ourselves as “progressed” and civilized societies.

    Nobody is having children even in western Europe, because of the same reason (lack of time and money). But this is another thing and does not relate to economic sustainability. Having reduced working time with high salaries/benefits makes EU western industries much less competitive than Asian counterparts and those firms are doomed to close.

    Foreword: I believe that the Chinese model is superior to western “work/life” balance and that the extra “free” time given to employees is no longer sustainable as of today’s economy, unless it is used for a second job.

    Given this, I don’t quite get the difference between “sacrificing for the country”, as Indian entrepreneurs are advocating for, and the Chinese model. Why do we Lemmings tend to blame India for being exploitative but praise China for being fair?
