Someday this evil empire will be dust and all of the jails and prisons they built on Turtle Island will be ruins. The best co-op shooter FPS I know of is FEAR 3. The story is pretty bad. There’s these two guys, one is named Pointman and he’s from COD and the other is named Noodles and he’s from Second Sight on PS2. They are scared of their mom, Alman, so they have to break out of jail and find the scientist who held them all hostage. Now that sounds pretty easy, but for some reason The Military and the Demogorgon are really mad at you, and they chase you all 14 blocks through the grocery store and the suburbs to the airport. Its absolutely a blast and both guys have a different move set, as weird as that sounds for co-op FPS.
Elections actually have a certain amount of value for authoritarians and fascists, and at times they might even look competitive. Apartheid South Africa consistently held elections, though of course the only people who could vote were white. Under the Salazar dictatorship in Portugal, elections were held regularly, but opposition candidates invariably withdrew before election day. They can be a safety valve, especially if there’s a controlled or weakened opposition: Disgruntled citizens can blow off some steam and air grievances in a structured way. They also allow the party to engage supporters. Even a toothless legislature like the Cortes in Francoist Spain was still a place where money or favors could be traded, and an election is a chance for the autocrat to demonstrate their strength to the rest of the party.
In short, elections are not likely to go away even in the worst-case scenario in the United States.
It is funny that people can spend their whole adult lives watching kayfabe elections, watch things crumble and decline and shift Right no matter who they elect, lose their civil rights no matter which “side” is in power, and then open the next paragraph like “and if we’re not careful, all what I just described could happen here.”
It’s like when you hear somebody from the abandoned industrial Appalachian wastes start with “third world country” rhetoric.

Broadly decreasing my spending, personally. The less USD trade you do, the less you contribute to the colonial death machine. Trying to cut from megacorps first, and generally reduce all spending from there. The only money I am happy to spend is buying art directly from queer artists. Everything else is on the chopping block.
In small town America, if you’re not on Facebook, you simply don’t exist. Deleting my Facebook account exiled me from town gossip, community events, and even basic recognition. I became a ghost in my own life.
The context is there and it is true. My village government, the library, the schools don’t post updates to their websites, it’s all facebook. The local booster clubs and social groups are all on facebook. We do push them to post in real outlets too, and one local booster club publishes a Newsletter, but the default is facebook.
When you’re watching WWE wrestling and the bad guy in that storyline is the guy who owns the WWE in real life, and that guy is a bad guy in real life, that doesn’t make the story you are watching real. That’s still a “Work of fiction.” Searching the Work for meaning or hints about the real world situation can be fun, but the Work is a performance art piece for television made by the guy who is bad in real life. Personally I think MSNBC is a boring wrestling show, I don’t like their “all promos” style and they use too much pre-recorded footage.

It’s because if you don’t “biz as usual” with everyone else in the colonies, they kill you. Every law in the colonies and many norms are enforced by a man with a gun. The laws only apply to people who cannot buy their way out of them and they will kill you if you don’t play their paper money trading game with them and let them win. They’re murderers who have a short-order murder society and they kill people or put them in cages forever when anyone without fiat money doesn’t pretend along.

The more I look at the kind of messaging I see on this platform, the more I think maybe it isn’t great. It’s a lot of demotivating, depression-inducing, defeatist gloom and doom and far fewer calls to action than I remember seeing on other platforms in previous conservative administrations.
You are right that we ought to be posting less gloom. There is a lot of unhelpful rhetoric out there already, I’ve even seen ‘sticking it out til the midterms’ and that’s not the kind of defeatist nonsense people need to hear.

Calling the network of private and state hospitals in the colonies a vast healthcare system, as though it is something that a fed secretary can directly control, is a wild mischaracterization. Under Trump 1, the CDC failed so miserably that it meaningfully damaged the social contract on the continent and it stayed broken.
Because my family needs specialist optometry sometimes, and my region’s healthcare system was already so crumbly, we found affordable optometry in Ontario. Not only was it cheaper near the Universities towards central Ontario, the care was better quality. Out of pocket care was about 20% cheaper in Ontario than in bordering states in the colonies.
Obviously this sort of travel is prohibitive for many, but depending on what your needs are, it may be a better or the only option.
One thing that many more people in the colonies can do is learn how to source drugs from safer places (like Ontario or Chile).
People who read should already have been aware of this but it is useful to have confirmation from an official about what has already been reported. Too late for justice but the truth still matters.
