Or just always look at the 100g column.

There’s also Buster Keaton’s The General (1926). They switched it up though and had the confederates doing the raiding and the union doing the chasing.
Why does dumping water out of boots have instructions? Isn’t it like dumping water out of any other container?
There’s also Forgejo but federation is very WIP. https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo/issues/59
So this is how democracy in the US can end
One would think that if it gets that far, that it wasn’t a democracy to begin with.
When I first started cooking, I never salted my food because I noticed no difference. Now I’ve begun salting food, but it’s generally so much that other people perceive it as oversalted, because only then do I see a difference. Maybe I’m salting too late (since most recipes have it as a last step)? What difference does it make to add salt at the end vs at the beginning?
The first thing I thought of is working on a submarine
That is also something I’ve had some interest in, but besides military (I don’t want to be involved with it in any way), I don’t think there are that many submarines out there.
Minetest is written in C++, and Mineclone is a minetest game. Minetest games and mods are written in Lua.
I don’t see the need for new open source minecraft-like game if we already got minetest.
I think momentum does indeed play a role. I remember when I do things to “get my life back on track” such as cleaning the house, going to the meetings I am supposed to go to, doing some activities I tell myself I should be doing, then the next few days I’m very productive, but then at some point fall back to where I started.
When I deleted my reddit account many years ago, my productivity skyrocketed. It has now dipped considerably
I remember having the same experience, but I don’t know if it was just a side-effect of having stood up and decided to do something about procrastination. Nevertheless I think I may again edit my /etc/hosts file and set some sites to 0.0.0.0.
What were stars, the milky way and the moon to you?
Yes, the mass has been increasing: meteors bombarding the earth daily
It can’t really be said there is a net-gain in mass (in fact most websites seem to estimate a net loss).
https://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/297622/is-the-earth-gaining-or-losing-mass-over-time
also plants make their food out of pretty much the definition of nothing, massless particles that makes its way up the food chain
I don’t know what you mean by «massless particles», but plants do not make food out of “the definition of nothing”. Photosynthesis is a chemical process and like any other chemical process due to the law of conservation of mass (disregarding mass-energy equivalence), the mass of the reagents is the same as the mass of the products. The sugars produced during photosynthesis weren’t just produced with light as input. Light is the energy source that fuels the reaction in the light dependent of phase of photosynthesis, which has water as input, whose products (besides oxygen molecules which are a “useless” byproduct of the reaction) are used to produce the sugars in the non-light dependent phase which also takes carbon dioxide as input (there are obviously more substances involved in the reaction but they are “reused” between the two phases).
So, the mass of the “food” of the plant is in reality obtained from water and carbon dioxide, not out of “nothingness”.
I think they meant it in the other direction: Every single person in the world is the world champion of something, not every activity has a world champion.
That said, if you can’t figure out the physics of a canoe within the first couple strokes then maybe boating as a while just isn’t your thing
I have no difficulty with the “basic” canoes, but I struggle with the long and thin ones, where I can’t even keep myself upright for longer than 30 seconds, before capsizing, having tried a few times. Is boating not my thing?
In the American style, also called the zig-zag method or fork switching, the knife is initially held in the right hand and the fork in the left. Holding food in place with the fork tines-down, a single bite-sized piece is cut with the knife. The knife is then set down on the plate, the fork transferred from the left hand to the right hand, and the food is brought to the mouth for consumption. The fork is then transferred back to the left hand and the knife is picked up with the right
Maybe I shouldn’t be saying this since it’s cultural, but I feel like if it is possible to use cutlery wrong, then I think the American style is definitely one of the wrong ways.
Why did all the downvotes disappear? I remember back then when I wrote this post that it had a lot more downvotes.
You all look dumb when dancing.
I dislike the white filling, but I feel like the black cookie has some mysterious aroma that makes it really attractive, something unlike anything else I’ve smelled (doesn’t remind me of burned cocoa).
I’m using Posteo and have absolutely no problem with it. The base price is 1€/month and for my purposes I haven’t needed to buy any extra stuff (like extra space or aliases). It also allows access via mail clients by IMAP and POP, which is something I’ve seen many popular gmail alternatives not providing, despite being IMO a pretty important feature.
You mentioned storage space is important for you. The default size is 2.0 GB, but you can acquire more by paying +0,25€/month for every extra gigabyte up to a maximum total of 20 GB.
It should be noted however that it is a German company and therefore has to comply with German laws.
The one thing I’m not really convinced by is their approach to spam. The web interface doesn’t provide any way to define rules to filter out spam except for filter exceptions, but the service already filters out spam for you and it will never reach your inbox. I would normally think that’s a bad idea, but I’ve never received any spam nor have I noticed any mail going missing (except for my lemmy.ml registration mail which I remember I had problems with but I don’t remember if it was Posteo’s fault and if yes if it was their spam filter in which case it could be allowed to reach your inbox by adding it as an exception).
I don’t get the banana trick. What do I do after pinching? I just end up ripping through the skin of one while trying it out.
