What? That doesn’t use docker. It’s JavaScript files meant to be used in TamperMonkey

Here’s the repo I added the license to: https://github.com/FiniteLooper/UserScripts
I went with GPL for that one
Open an issue on the project saying “please add a license”.
I forgot to add a license on a project of mine, and someone did this for me, so I looked into it and picked a license to add. I was glad they brought it to my attention!
I remember applying to jobs listed as being remote in the USA only to get an email from someone at the company informing me that they are only looking for people in Poland.
Poland!
I replied with screenshots and links to all their incorrect job listings and let them know someone was doing their hiring wrong which is wasting their time and my time.
Yes, Earth Abides is also good! I had forgotten about that one until I saw your comment
Lucifer’s Hammer by Larry Niven is a fantastic book that might be near what you are looking for. It’s about an asteroid impact on Earth, this removes a lot of the population and infrastructure and the story focuses on a few different groups of people as they make do with what they can find or scavenge, and then the resource battling that goes on between groups.
A story line I remember well is on a group that found an abandoned neighborhood and were astonished to find that it still had running water from the nearby local dam/reservoir. They lived here for quite a while in their relative luxury until it just stopped working one day. A burst pipe in some other neighborhood had slowly drained the dam faster than they would have used it up.
Anyway, it’s a great book because it feels so realistic as to what would really happen and the struggles people would actually be going through.
I once had an intern who previously worked for me call and ask that I be used as a reference, but lie about what they did and for how long. I was like: uh… no if I get a phone call I will describe your role accurately.
Crazy that they would think anyone would do that
If you have Photoshop, it has some AI powered filters that are pretty amazing. One is specifically made to do what you are asking about.
There is only one rule about this event, and your suggestion is a violation of that rule
I’ve taken the time to annoy the senders. If they come with a prepaid “business reply mail” envelope you can use this in two ways:
They have to pay the postage either way, but one will cost a lot more than the other.
I got a firstlast.me domain for myself, if it’s a personal or portfolio site I think that’s a good choice as well. It was also a bit cheaper than some of the “specialty” TLDs too.
I still use my gmail, but a favorite email I saw someone use once was himself@name.com - I though that was perfect but also hilarious
Adobe Illustrator over Inkscape. I thought I’d save some money and learn Inkscape but it’s just too weird an un-intuitive, sometimes buggy too. Key combinations couldn’t be mapped to work like Illustrator which I was used to, so it’s frustrating to work with because you know what it should be able to do, but now to have to figure out what Inkscape calls the feature and what menu that might be in.
Same for Photoshop over Paint.NET or anything else. Photoshop is still the master at layered image manipulation for all sorts of things. I use it for Web/UI mockup designs, and for photo editing in some cases. Nothing else can do this as well, and again it’s because I’m so familiar with it and it’s key combinations and features. Plus, now the new AI features are doing way more than I ever thought possible, it’s pretty impressive stuff really!
Great idea thanks! I’m pretty sure my N64 cable is broken and I wasn’t sure where else to look except a local game store which would probably charge a ton. Found on on Ali for $1.30, can’t beat that!
If you have old batteries or something like a UPS that is mostly a battery you can (and should) take it to a battery recycling center. A general recycling center near me does that, but also some stores like Best Buy will collect and recycle them too. Years ago I dropped off a non-functioning UPS there and it was super simple. I would have felt terrible throwing that away in the trash.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
