You will serve your music however you want. Navidrome is one of the best, you can’t go wrong.

Navidrome does not take car eof tagging. You have to make sure your music is tagged properly. You can also use other software for it that uses beets under the hood. Someone shall chime in and suggest the best app for that as beets isn’t end user friendly.

Storage is cheap. You suggest combining the images and storing the difference.

You can’t separate the images anymore. You have to store them in a container such that you have one common base image. You can then later on decide which image to look at.

You could also take a short video and only display one image.

Avif uses a video compression algorithm, meaning it’s basically one frame of a video.

Btw, I wouldn’t care about your problem. Storage is cheap. Try saving 10 4k videos and you’ll laugh about your image library

I had problems with podman/selinux and jellyfin and gpu acvelleration which is why I’m on debian now. I’d go with atomic any day if I could solve the problem but I don’t know how.

Likely, This is it. It transcodes and hence it has to buffer because the server isn’t strong enough. Best is to use a gpu like intel a380 as described in jellyfin’s doc.

I would’ve wished

• don’t rush things into production.
• dont offer a service to a friend without really knowing and having the experience to keep it up when needed.
• dont make it your life. The services are there to help you, not to be your life.
• use docker. Podman is not yet ready for mainstream, in my experience. When the services move to podman officially it’s time to move. Just because jellyfin offers official documentation for it, doesn’t mean it’ll work with podman (my experience)
• just test all services with the base docker install. If something isn’t working, there may be a bug or two. Report if it is a bug. Hunt a bug down if you can. maybe it’s just something that isn’t documented (well enough) for a beginner.
• start on your own machine before getting a server. A pi is enough for lightweight stuff but probably not for a fast and smooth experience with e.g. nextcloud.
• backup.
• search for help. If not available in a forum. ask for help. Dont waste many many hours if something isnt working. But research it first and read the documentation.

I don’t know the best way but I would use cron and start docker every minute (if it’s not running).

Mine turns off at 2 or if noone has been watching for 10 minutes after 2am and turns on at 5:45. Nobody ever uses it during that time. It’s pointless to keep it running. Additional bonus is that it auto updates all containers each morning. Yes, I sometimes wake up at 4 or 5 and it would be cool if it were running but it shows that you do not NEED it.

I had a horrible experience with nextcloud on a pi. I have a great experience on a good server. It stores files. It does that very well for me. Clients work reliable.

Nextcloud apps are sometines good and sometimes not. It can do everything. One should let navidrome serve music and not nextcloud. Mealie is for recipes. Jellyfin for videos and immich for images. Paperless for documents.

Nextcloud is file storage, backup, syncing and maybe collab. That’s what I expect and that’s what I get.

Why would anyone ddos you? Ddos costs money andor effort. Noone is going to waste that on you. Maybe dos but not ddos. And the troll will go away after some time as well. There’s no gain in dosing you. Why would anyone hack your static website? For the lulz? If everything is https encrypted on your local net how does a hacker infest everything on your network?

Sounds like the robot guy doesn’t use https only mode
