  • I feel like it is a story as old as time and not isolated to Boeing. I am pretty sure all companies that are publicly traded have a legal obligation to maximize stockholder return, it’s why most companies go to shit eventually. They may be able to frame making better decisions as an investment into future returns, but they are legally obligated to maximize returns. Boeing just did it while also being propped up by federal contracts where holding them accountable for the decline in quality and changing vendors was above everyone’s pay grade. End stage capitalism combined with good old boy government contracts = astronauts stuck on the space station. Boeing has been a powerhouse of profit for 50+ years before it crumbled, that is the entire adult life of a boomer. And we all know Boomers don’t give a shit about the next generation. So it served its purpose.

Disclaimer: I am in no way educated in business or have any experience. I am just stating my opinion. Back on the site we don’t speak of, usually a generic not relevant comment like this one just meant to join the conversation usually got buried with something relevant ending up at the top. Here it is one of a few comments so I feel obligated to point out that I am just talking out my ass. Remember, reddit went to shit when it became publicly traded and they began trying to maximize shareholder profit, unlike boeing who is propped up by the government, we just left.

  • This is all from Bernie waking a generation up and opening their eyes to what could be. It’s been over 8 years since he first ran and got into the spotlight. Millennials woke up, and saw that there is another option, now a lot of their children are of voting age in a generation that doesn’t listen to 24 hour news cycles that just fear monger, they aren’t scared of the immigrants or trans people. Bernie may not have been elected but he pushed generations to realize how fucked we are and that their is something to do about it. He pushed Harris to pick Walz. He mobilized the grassroots that have now hitched up to Kamalas wagon. Hopefully, things keep trending the way they look like they are. Bernie has done more good already than any president in my lifetime. Even if he hasn’t made massive policy change, he made a few generations become sentient and numbers are what we need.

  • The only thing keeping people from voting against Trump was the other option was a corpse. People checked out because it was a joke. Apatgetic voters dont answer polls, and a lot of people weren’t going to vote that now will. The idea that the party listened to its constituents goes a long way. Even if Kamala isn’t ideal (she isn’t) she is a step in the right direction… NOT a corpse. She is hope that maybe the country isn’t doomed and she staves off the apathy most of us were feeling. Especially when the argument was “if you don’t go vote for the corpse, the incoming facism is your fault!”. Now, they did the bare minimum, so do I, I need to vote.

  • You are a sycophant for the broken 2 party system. He votes in line with democrats because it is the lesser of two EVILS. He still voices his opinions that are much farther left than the democrats. If you think he is a Democrat you haven’t actually been paying attention. Maybe the democrats are taking ownership of him and his followers? That would be pretty cool because it might actually pull one of the parties and the country toward sanity, which was his entire life’s goal.
