It was already spreading from mammal to mammal. IRC there was that Mink farm last year and I think seals too. There were also cases of H5N1 jumping from birds to humans.
Given H5N1 can make the jump from birds to mammals(including humans), and from mammals to mammals, it’s not a huge shock that it’s made the jump to humans from other mammals.
H1N1 killed 50-100 million people, so the danger has always been there, and scientists have been warning about it for decades. For example, here’s a journal article from almost twenty years ago discussing this scenario:

I wonder if it’s dawning on some of them that supporting Russia, a country with an economy the size of the Netherlands and Belgium, is probably less profitable than supporting the US defense industry and selling weapons to markets which make Russia look like Burkino Faso with nukes.
I mean, ignoring the morality or right and wrong of it all, since that’s less relevant to some of these ghouls.

There’s a small part of me that hopes this election will actually be less close than the media are portraying it to be, because they have a motive to keep people watching and less people will watch if they think it isn’t close, and because their coverage suggests it’ll be close this will hopefully ensure high turnout among anti-Trump voters.
Although the polling doesn’t look great. (And I say this as someone who knows about confidence intervals, margins of error, and weighting)

Of course a group of lgbtq+/women-hating nationalist Christians say the party that is against them is losing votes and doing poorly.
Why would they want to make it seem like a tight race and that Biden might lose? That’s likely to increase turnout of voters who don’t want that to happen.
If you want to depress turnout of democratic voters, you would produce polls that say Biden’s almost certain to win.
