Falconry can involve tons of different skills. Mews (aviary) and giant hood (travel box) can use carpentry. Hoods/other gear -> leather working. Bells -> metallurgy. Perches -> metalwork and woodturning. Drone / kite flying maybe depending on bird. One guy makes his own telemetry. Lots of designing for the many little things needed. Almost everything needed is handcrafted or repurposed from something. I use 3d printing for my giant hoods, whistles, and anklet templates. Also like, animal training and hunting stuff for the raptor.

But falconry is not a casual activity, it’s truly a lifestyle. Because of that, there are a lot of falconer couples, or, divorced falconers. So uh, make sure your partner is really into it before going in deep.

Someone mentioned turning a PC into a Chromebook above and it’s not a bad idea. You can probably install Android apps on it for streaming services too. All you need is a flash drive. I probably wouldn’t mess with it though if it’s your only device if you aren’t that tech savvy.

I use my GoPro a ton and thought I could add a drone into my videos but I haven’t really been able to try it yet. I did get my drone license though and might have some paid work coming up which is nice.

I love my HP printer. Always prints when I ask it to every few months, uses third party toner, 0 issues whole time I’ve had it. Of course it’s a laserjet from 2004 so it’s built a bit different. I wouldn’t recommend a new HP though lol.

Black & White 1 or 2. Game was basically made for VR but was released in 2001/2005 and was awesome. It could be huge if handled right with some AR elements.

We have a pvc pipe cutter that is used to cut up frozen small animals, like quail and mice, for our raptors. It works really, really well.

If it’s a hobby worth doing then it’s a hobby worth talking about. There will be a group or meetup or something with like-minded people. My hobby only has about 5,000 people in the US and I go to several meets a year and have friends from multiple states. I could do my hobby without ever interacting with anyone (and some people do it like that) but I like the social part.
