Thanks for the assist.
That is a fun fact. A personal fun fact is I remember that the Secret Service is part of the Treasury department because of the cult classic, Wild Wild West.
Edit: spell check
If the Secret Service existed when Andrew Jackson was the President, we would already have had this figured out.
I love Behind The Bastards and It Could Happen Here. They do have significant episode counts. BtB does a great and looooooong series on Henry Kissinger that I think is a prime example of what you are going to get. If you listen to that one and don’t enjoy, I would move on from them.
I really like this idea. I am going to mention it to my partner. We have been trying to craft a policy for it recently.
We do love a feel-good end of year win so we can hang up our hats. The headline lulls us but the article contains the alarmbell.
DeWine has been nothing but shrewd since taking the governorship. His metered and somewhat displined display during COVID almost guaranteed he wouldnt be unseated by a Dem. His only real major fuckups anyone noticed were with SB6 and the firstenergy scandal. He may yet get caught in that snare. He is still playing out of the adult in the room playbook while not antagonizing the Trumpier parts of the state. Hes is term limited so he could go bananas but I feel like he wont. But if they provide him something he can kind of defend, he will sign it.
While good for now, he wants the legislation to go back on the drawing board to make it more bulletproof for the inevitable court battle. This is a break in the fighting. We didnt win the war.
Absolutely. Those traitors who think they can become owners by grinding hard enough make the world miserable for the rest of us. They don’t take PTO so they serve as personal scabs to us who actually enjoy getting away from the office.
You have to look at the whole compensation package…
No, I don’t. I can’t feed my family with an EAP program or a 401(k) that will disappear with the next robber baron of Wall st, or a marginally better healthcare. The world still runs on dollars and cents and until we all get our fair share, we need to be coming for these corpo-clowns.
Yeah, this feels like a nothingburger. Rates have only started coming in line with expectations and corpo gouging is the real problem. No amount of high interest will stop companies charging extortionate rates. Powell has good reason to be cagey as every rate hike tanks the stock market because of the general panic. We finally have lenders and businesses getting the idea that the gravy train of nearly free loans is over.
