  • Newton’s theory of gravity … severely inaccurate.

    Except it’s not - it’s accurate enough within certain limits to still be useful today. It’s only inaccurate in extreme cases. Relativity is more accurate, sure, but outside of the extremes, it’s more complex than Newton’s and not worth the extra trouble.










  • I think the argument they make is that quantum randomness doesn’t have any way of influencing our choices, the scales are too different. I disagree, I think quantum randomness is free will, and there’s some sort of quantum amplifier, for lack of a better word, that bridges the gap between particle interactions and consciousness. But since there is no way to prove or disprove such a thing, since it is by definition indistinguishable from chance, it’s basically naval gazing…







  • I’ve often thought about what I would do if I won the lottery, and this is it- I’d start a few businesses, not really caring if they are profitable, but just to have access to the stuff I want at a known place and time. Sure you could just own the equipment to make really good pizza anytime, but leaving it dormant most of the time would seem like a waste. Rather make it into a business, even if it doesn’t cover the cost, it would at least reduce it somewhat…
