Newton’s theory of gravity … severely inaccurate.
Except it’s not - it’s accurate enough within certain limits to still be useful today. It’s only inaccurate in extreme cases. Relativity is more accurate, sure, but outside of the extremes, it’s more complex than Newton’s and not worth the extra trouble.

Base 16 is great when you’re interacting with a computer, but aside from that, not much. Only being divisible by 2 is kind of a pain in the real world.
If there’s an empty napkin dispenser, that would be my assumption. But it’s been happening more often and at more places that no, they don’t even have dispensers, you need to ask for napkins.
I’ve been thinking this for years, but never been able to put it into words to convey the idea to someone else… emergent properties is a start…
It’s not half a century ago, more like 10-15 years. Basically the old style with 3-4 speeds and a torque converter wasted power, and I still had one of those (brand new) from '06 to '09. Most automatics now have mostly the same innards as a manual, often a 6 speed, but with automatic actuators.
Us (Arizona) yes I can, though I haven’t in some years because my wife won’t, and we don’t need 2 cars… But I ride a motorcycle so I do get to handle a clutch still.

I think the argument they make is that quantum randomness doesn’t have any way of influencing our choices, the scales are too different. I disagree, I think quantum randomness is free will, and there’s some sort of quantum amplifier, for lack of a better word, that bridges the gap between particle interactions and consciousness. But since there is no way to prove or disprove such a thing, since it is by definition indistinguishable from chance, it’s basically naval gazing…

Shut up. I live in Phoenix so I think I know too hot, but I agree with the above- it being over the top hot here does not mean no other place can be too hot. I tend to think anything over 100 is too hot, just because we routinely go well beyond does not take away from the too hotness of 105, for example.

I’ve often thought about what I would do if I won the lottery, and this is it- I’d start a few businesses, not really caring if they are profitable, but just to have access to the stuff I want at a known place and time. Sure you could just own the equipment to make really good pizza anytime, but leaving it dormant most of the time would seem like a waste. Rather make it into a business, even if it doesn’t cover the cost, it would at least reduce it somewhat…
In other words… differently.
