Say what you will about Newsom but he’s an effective communicator who understands the issues. He knows how to effectively debate and while that shouldn’t matter we all know it does. His only real liability is that right wing media has convinced Midwestern voters that California is a post apocalyptic hell hole.

Well I guess being a loud mouth , in your face republican congressman who tells unbelievable off the wall lies isn’t as unique or interesting as it used to be.

People are already dying because of the broken medical care system in the US. Continuously voting for the lesser of two evils hasn’t made things any better and I doubt it’s going to be any different this round. The threat of ‘worse’ is no longer motivation enough for me. In fact, instead of trying to delay our inevitable crash maybe we should just steer this mother right into the frickin wall. Either way, I just don’t care anymore.

My argument to that would be if we are only a niche segment then where is the serious economic harm they are referring to? It sounds to me like API calls are happening either way but they don’t want to lose out on the ad and customer tracking revenue. Also, I as other have pointed out there is no reason it needs a remote cloud to change the thermostat.

I’ve made this exact argument many times. As a US citizen Russia and China have no power over me so it’s better for me to have my info there than at home. A person’s own government may use their info as a means of direct control while a foreign government can’t do that.

The stock market and publicly traded companies. The idea that a business that is making consistent profits isn’t good unless those profits are increased each quarter is asinine. This system of shortsighted hyper focus on short term quarterly growth for the sake of growth is the cause of so much pain and suffering in the world. Even companies with amazing financials will work to push workers compensation down, cut corners and exploit loopholes to make sure their profits are always growing. Consistent large profits aren’t good enough.

My take is that newer hardware runs best with Fedora. I’m honestly not sure what combination of kernel choice, Gnome version etc makes the difference but the fact I don’t have to worry about those things is the beauty of Fedora.
