  • To be fair “have a beer with” is about trust.

If I can’t sit down with you, have a beer, and enjoy myself, I can’t trust you. A president is going to encounter unknown challenges and I need to trust them to solve it.

That being said Trump fails that test immediately. There is no version of “having a beer” with Trump where I could trust him.

Biden however? If you asked the average American what they know about Biden one of the top three answers is “having a beer”, it’s called “grabbing an ice cream” but the principal is the same.

  • We know Trump is a liar.

Biden had to prove he wasn’t feeble… and he failed at that.

Voting for Biden and his administration is still 100% the correct decision, but that debate isn’t going to convince any swing voters. If you want to use the incumbency advantage you need to convince folks you can stay the course for the next 4 years.

  • You’re allowed to criticize Biden and the Democratic Party.

Without a doubt voting for Trump is the biggest mistake anyone can make. It you’re not happy about the Israel situation Trump is the worst person to solve it. Trump’s answer is “kill them all” and with no regard for innocent lives, children or civilians. It’s continued genocide and it is not acceptable. Trump can’t be reasoned with because he isn’t a reasonable person.

Biden and the Democratic Party, that’s the answer. However it’s stupid to ignore the millions in money that have come their way. Biden and Democrats aren’t perfect, far from it. But they are reasonable, they can be reasoned with.

No single individual or single election is going to solve all our problems. It’s a long process. Biden has done plenty of good, as have Democrats. But Biden and Democrats can do better.

  • I’ve never heard that before and find it baffling.

Bulbasaur comes out of the gate with two types.

Charmander becomes Charizard with two types.

The first (or second) non-starter you encounter is Pidgy with two types.

The required Viridian Forest had Weedle with two types and if you only got a Caterpie, that becomes Butterfree who also has two types.

The number of two type Pokemon that you can catch at the start of the game is massive. Probably about half?

  • Someone can probably give a better answer, but it starts by him not paying.

He will appeal the result and that could easily take another year or so, during which time he doesn’t pay.

Then he will just not pay, that will take some time since you can’t complain to the courts that he didn’t pay after 1 day, it probably takes at least 90 days, but realistically probably closer to 120 or 150 days so that he is REALLY overdue.

Then he is given a grace period to respond, that’s another 30 to 60 days. He’ll just say that he can’t. That goes back and forth for a while, at least 6 months total.

Eventually the courts might put some sort of lien on Trump’s income except he doesn’t make money the traditional way, so it won’t pay out. That takes another 6 months or so.

Then maybe they start going after assets. Assets aren’t just free, so that takes even more time.

Also during all of this Trump moves assets around. He isn’t allowed to, but he’s already not allowed to and he has.

At some point in this process an agreement for a settlement is brought up. Trump will offer pennies on the dollar, which no one will accept. Trump will use this to bide even more time.

It’s neverending legal maneuvering. Just bullshit on bullshit on bullshit. Eventually someone gives up or dies. It takes tens of tens of years. At any point Trump can just start to pay a little bit of it, then stop after a few months and the process starts again.

BTW if you don’t pay your bills the full fury comes down on you. No baby gloves.

  • To add, that same season they already killed Glenn.

He dies, but the show doesn’t really address it. The characters do, but the show at this point was SUPER clear when a character died. Extra slow motion, special music, the works. Then they spend like 6 episodes with him dead, but you really just don’t believe it. Then they reveal how he survived and it’s just ridiculous, it’s basically “the zombies just sorta give up for some reason”. (Or is it like a dozen headshots, I forget at this point).

Anyway, ALL that happens, then the season ends on a big cliffhanger. Unfortunately the tension is all wrong. The show was moving at a glacial pace where basically if you watched the season opener, the mid-season finale (see, above) and the finale, you’d be mostly caught up on the story. And so this finale robbed us of that too.

Also the Internet was full of spoilers saying it was Glenn (from the comics) such that all excitement was lost between seasons.

  • So, working backwards, thirdly, the books are excellent. The first three are by far the best and cover up to season 3/4ish. The next two are good, but also different. The show also really starts to diverge so kinda up to season 6, but only in the broadest sense.

In either case if you’re going to read the books, read them all for full background. If course we’re still waiting on at least 2 more new books, sooooooo you might be waiting a while/forever.

Second. The House of the Dragon TV series. I was also hesitant to watch it, but it really is great. It’s not perfect, but if all we ever got was this one good season, I’d be happy. If season two ends up sucking, bummer, but at least we had one good one.

And firstly. King Bran. The biggest issue with Season 8 is that it just rushes to the ending. Bran has the best story? He is a weird raven character now. What does that mean? Who understands what that means? What did he actually do? What about Meera?

But what if we knew more about this three eyed raven character? What if we understood their goals? What if they foresaw the events of the series? What if they caused, or guided them? Hodor’s purpose was to eventually save Bran. To do that Bran would have to make Hodor, Hodor. What if he helped ensure other events also took place? What if Bran being “King” was a setup from the beginning?

If all that is properly explained, I don’t really have an issue with King Bran.

Of course that only explains it for the viewer. To King’s Landing Bran is just some weird kid.

So let’s change Bran’s role slightly. The White Walkers are going to attack. The only way to win is with a united Seven Kingdoms. By the time Dany arrives the kingdom is largely united. However Dany has dragons. Can Bran convince Dany to give everything up and focus on the White Walkers? We see hints of this in the show. If the White Walker threat isn’t fixed in one episode, what happens?

There are multiple seasons of story, and that’s just Bran.

They key points of the show can still work (some of them at least), but they need time. Think of the Red Wedding. Arya’s seasons long journey is nearly at an end. Caitlyn and her negotiating is paying off. Robb is about to achieve victory. Three seasons of setup, executed perfectly.

Realistically, looking back, season 8 was never going to be able to wrap things up. Even less so with a reduced last season.

The show runners fucked up and they fucked up big time.

  • Downsizing.

The trailer pitches it as a funny concept movie (what if people could become small), but that concept is largely dropped about 1/3rd of the way in and becomes a dystopian drama, which is interesting but a huge tonal shift, only for that story to be dropped 2/3rds in, to finally give us an end of the world story, which is kinda comedy but not really.

It’s three movies squished together, each of them are “fine” but together they are an ugly boring mess.

  • Infinite scrolling. Sometimes I want things to end. It’s fine if I have to click “more” but I want to know when I’ve reached the “end”.

Also many apps/sites forget where I am it I leave, so if I leave and then go back I’m in the middle of a mess.

(I’m fine for it to be an option, I personally don’t like it but I don’t care if folks who like it keep it.)

  • Extension support/customization.

I used Firefox on the desktop since it was called Firebird. I could mix and match and mush all sorts of crazy things into it over the years. I was very happy with it.

Then Australis (sp?) changed everything on the desktop and broke all my extensions. Some still worked, but since the goal was “be Chrome” I just switched to that.

On mobile it was a similar experience. I could add all sorts of extensions and then one day I just couldn’t. All the browsers were basically the same so I switched to Chrome.

One day Chrome added the ability to have the URL bar on the bottom and I was so pleased. Then one day they took it away. I looked online how to get it back and discovered Firefox could do it. Then I learned that as long as I used Firefox Nightly I could install extensions. (I think you can do this in stable now?) Then I learned about a handful of other useful customizations.

I use Firefox mainly. I use Chrome sometimes if I’m testing something, mostly to test “Did I fuck up with my constant customization in Firefox or is this website just stupid?”

I use Firefox because it (generally) let’s me decide how it should work.
