Lmao these folks must have forgot where they are. We don’t punish our billionaires here in the great US of A. They’re special, amazing, and definitely way too busy to worry about silly little things like laws or prison like us poors.

There’s a lot deleted here so I may have missed it but I’m just curious, what would you prefer her to say? Like you are totally right that politicians famously make promises they don’t keep but would you prefer her to just say nothing? Or to say the opposite? The other guy has a plan that will increase taxes/costs on everyone but the top 5%. Is that better? Should he also not say anything?
All that matters is if that corpse has a big R next to its name.
I gotta say… I’m not necessarily a huge fan of Kamala but she is a pretty terrific speaker. Granted the bar has been buried underground for a bit now so my reference may be skewed but it is pretty nice to just see someone eloquently speak, be coherent, respectful, be decisive and concise, and actually say meaningful answers to each question. I have a feeling being in a courtroom for so long may have helped. As well as a career in law and government. Almost as if relevant experience is important or something… But I digress.
Goes double for whether or not he’s serious. The number of times I’ve heard something and have had a legitimately hard time telling if he’s joking, or exaggerating, or just a complete fucking moron is absolutely crazy. Pretty much every sentence he utters becomes this endless game of trying to figure it out. It seems like his base just kind of randomly picks the option that makes the most sense to them and rolls with it.
It really does suck. The current voting system not only discourages anything other than a two party system, it basically guarantees it. And then it becomes one of those things where why the hell would one of those two parties, who’s perpetually in charge, ever vote to change a system that would allow for another party (or parties) to come into power? It’s just gonna be a slog to ever get it fully changed to something like ranked choice. But I’d absolutely love to be proven wrong.
You say that but the “what about ism” I have heard from friends and family regarding pretty much any allegation of a GOP politician is absolutely bonkers. I don’t know how many times I have to say that I don’t care what jersey you wear, you should get punished for doing illegal shit. But it honestly just doesn’t matter.
We’ve reached the point where people think absolutely everything is just picking sides. If you want something bad for one side, it’s only because you are in the other’s pocket. It’s just exhausting.
The other argument I saw against him was he admitted when he made a mistake one time. I just remember it cause that struck me as so strange. Like… Yeah that’s awesome. Admitting you were wrong and trying to fix your mistake is a pretty damn good quality. It would be so annoying if he thought he knew everything about everything and never ever admitted he was wrong about anything even when he- oooooh it makes sense now.
I mean maybe I’m a bit off the wall here but is it possible that - and I’m just spitballing here - but isn’t it possible that being an absolutely insufferable, repugnant, lying, manipulative, egotistical, repulsive, persistent, whining, cry baby asshole that has an almost impressive penchant for pissing off virtually every one, every single second of every single day, on top of being a disagreeable politician could potentially make you a more likely target than just being a disagreeable politician? Idk maybe I’m crazy.
I dunno man. She barely broke a billion dollars on the eras tour after Biden. Surely this will be the one to completely ruin her.
Just a reminder that the us had the most confirmed covid cases in the world, most confirmed covid deaths in the world, and the 13th highest rate of covid deaths in the world (worse than 92% of the rest of the world!). Oh and in 2019 Oregon just barely avoided having the US lose its “eradicated” status for measles which would make the US the only developed nation in the world to do so. Astoundingly the reason as to why these things happened was in question but surely record amounts of people remaining unvaccinated wasn’t a contributing factor. And surely having a president suggest such dynamite and wildly effective cures such as hydroxychloroquine, bleach, or literally suntanning your internal organs rather than a vaccine didn’t have any effect whatsoever.
How dare you besmirch the good name of leopards like that
The Ohio senator was asked by a journalist what can be done to stop school shootings. He said further restricting access to guns, as many Democrats advocate, won’t end them, noting they happen in states with both lax and strict gun laws. He touted efforts in Congress to give schools more money for security.
I always find this weird because it just completely glosses over the possibilities of A) the restrictions not really doing anything/enough, B) the incredible ease by which someone can just… Go to another state, and C) how absurdly easy it is to purchase firearms in the secondary market.
In the article he calls for bolstering security at schools. Which I always find funny because what if… And this is a wild idea… But what if there’s a shooting at a location other than a school? Not to mention that studies have shown that the presence of armed guards in schools doesn’t actually do much to deter shootings.
I absolutely love horror movies and have a long list of fantastic ones but not very many of them actually scared me. Most of them have been named already but two I didn’t see were The Babadook (2014) and surprisingly a Netflix movie called His House (2020) was actually awesome. One of my favorites in the last few years.
I mean I would be stunned if this doesn’t result in a lawsuit of some form. This is a pretty messed up (and unbelievably dumb) thing to do.
The past six weeks have shown that the pendulum can swing rapidly and wildly,” Rove wrote. “The Trump campaign is floundering. Mr Trump seems rattled. He’s making plenty of unforced errors and wasting valuable, irreplaceable time on insults, side issues and trivia.”
So… just business as usual? I mean honestly has there ever been a time when he was not wasting time on insults, side issues, and trivia?
Don’t be ridiculous. Lions Fear Gorgonzola. An ancient proverb.
It’s always so interesting (or heartbreakingly depressing) for me to hear this. I have seen that to some extent where I live, although very tepidly. However, when I go visit friends and family in much more red areas I feel like I’m going into bizarro world. People are doubling and tripling down. It’s like a weird arms race or something between trump and his sycophants as they desperately try to keep up with each other in terms of bigotry and just overall insanity and/or stupidity. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that, in those areas, they ate this stuff up and asked for seconds.
It would make me incredibly happy if this was some sort of breaking point and it actually did open some eyes but having been there and seen the countless gigantic trump/Vance flags hanging from the bed of outrageously lifted pickups, I just don’t see it.
