I have to imagine Calvin’s parents are more fit than the average parents of the same age given everything he puts them through

I feel like it makes even more sense if you consider that Calvin is an 80’s kid which means his parents were raised in the 50s or 60s. Also based on what we’ve seen of Calvin’s Dad, he probably thinks he’s giving Calvin an important lesson/life experience that’ll be good for him

Even if the courts eventually shoot down his bullshit orders eventually, they’re not allowed to stop him from enforcing them until the case is over, except against the specific plaintiffs in their court.

So assuming that his birthright citizenship order is defeated, as soon as the SCOTUS 30-day pause is up, he can start stripping people of citizenship and deporting them right away. If that order is overturned? Then he’ll have to deal with whatever the court says he needs to do, but he’ll still have destroyed a bunch of people’s lives in the process

Assuming we actually get another regular presidential election, the future of this country is going to depend heavily on whether or not the next president is willing to take extreme measures to correct a court that has repeatedly shown that it’s okay to do blatantly illegal and unconstitutional shit as long as you’re a Republican

Historically baseball was more popular but nowadays it’s far behind American football. Basketball and soccer are more popular than baseball among younger people as well. Though this really only ranks Americans one favorite sport to watch, not sure how it splits up if all sports they watch or play are included

That’s the issue with the hard right candidates, people keep settling for Republican-lite Dems that don’t address core economic problems because they’re left in comparison, then predictably they lose to far right politicians when their moderate reforms don’t do anything other than provide temporary relief. We need actual left politicians to institute radical structural changes if we ever want to break this cycle. Or a revolution, but given the way this country is going I have no faith that the victors in that would be on the left

Yes, Calvin & Hobbes’ babysitter storylines are always such a laugh. One would think that if Calvin hated Rosalynn so much he’d behave for one of the other sitters but we all know he doesn’t have enough self control for that
