I don’t have a lot of hope. For anything useful to survive in this country, we need progressives to take over. However, I’m afraid things would have to get much, much worse before that could happen.

I’m doing the whole peaceful, “No Kings”, protests, but unless they really, really grow, it isn’t going to go anywhere.

Despite what seems to be the case, I don’t think the right is winning solely because of racism. President Pedophile won both the first time and, bafflingly, the second time because he promised to make things better.

It was a lie, but it was a lie too many people were desperate to hear.

Giving hope is a winning strategy, but it needs to translate into results.

I’m not really hoping for the Democrats to win. I’d like to see the right (both Democrat and Republican) lose. I’d like to see a real progressive option emerge. What we need more than anything is people to run. However, the people who actually care about the people are mostly also struggling to survive.

I do think there’s a better chance of a progressive revolution in the Democratic party than there is in the Republican party. These kinds of flips have happened several times before. I’d like to see it happen again before it’s too late. However, we (the people) have to get a whole lot nastier.

Meanwhile, the Democrats have growing concerns about their nightmare scenario, that it will result in a net gain for progressives.

His handlers are starting to worry that the number of maga morons who voted for him have dropped so low that even the steps they’ve taken to disenfranchise their opponents won’t be enough to prevent progressives from swooping in in 2026 replacing Republicans and Democrats.

They are banking on people being too dumb to realize that they’re going to have to borrow more than half that money to pay it out.

They are, sadly, correct.

Prices go up even higher because corporations need to maintain will increase profit margins even if more than the base costs increase due to tariffs.

We’re stuck with the choice of voting for someone who will accelerate the decent into authoritarianism or voting for someone who won’t stop it.

Where should we find the hope?

Against the Democrats. It appears that they are the real problem according to this opinion piece.

I believe that The No Kings Movement has three fundamental tasks – 1) to assure that the Democratic Party does not gain control of the coalition, 2) to expand the coalition to include those without an institutional voice (the poor, the unhoused, the unregistered and non-voters, and most importantly, the millions of undocumented US residents at risk for MAGA’s genocidal zeal). The third task is the most difficult and subsumes the goal of limiting the influence of the Democratic Party. 3) The No Kings Day project must take the critical jump from protest to civil disobedience.

Nice to see they remembered that MAGA is a part of the problem.
