Harris is running on a message of looking forward to the future and on a message of hope. All research shows that actually motivates people better than fear, which is all the republicans have.
Harris is a likable person without the baggage that Hillary carried in 2016, and she’s not an entitled white woman. All the major news outlets are owned by billionaires whose sociopathic pursuit of hoarding wealth is best served by the republicans, so of course all of them are going to spin everything to discourage democrats from voting.
We have an awful, awful lot of damage to address in the USA, but we can’t even begin to fix a broken system with republicans in power. I have plenty of my own criticisms for the democrats, but unfortunately this is the situation. They must win this election. We will have to reform the party in the coming years if we want to see any actual change. That starts with making sure republicans lose by voting. I’ll be going after work to vote early tomorrow.

I might agree that the Democrats need to strip down messaging to better concentrate on winning back working class voters, but arguing that progressives are the reason the party sucks is looney. Progressives are the main group screaming about wealth inequality!
Kamala failed to convince voters that the Democrats would address the issues affecting their wallets. She mentioned some policies that I think would help, but she also said that she wouldn’t do anything different from Biden. I think that was a major disqualifier for her among voters. Biden isn’t responsible for the economic effects from the pandemic, but he was still in charge, so some people are going to blame him. Saying you’re not going to do anything different doesn’t inspire confidence.
I know that things won’t get better for the average person under Trump, but Kamala and the rest of the Democrats need a major fucking wake up call. If they want to win again, they’ll stop cozying up to billionaires and start fighting hard for the working class.
Anything that doesn’t focus on the class war is ultimately a distraction. Start winning the class war, and then the party will get strong enough to do something for everyone - including special interests.
