I really wished we got more stuff like Andor, Rogue One, and Knights of The Old Republic II that explore more of the universe outside of “here’s a bunch of themed planets with wacky CGI aliens”.
Andor and Rogue One are really good at showing what it’s like to actually be a Rebel and live in a universe being dictated by an empire, while KOTOR 2 was a really cool look at the metanarrative of the Jedi, the Sith, and the Force as a whole.
Eww, gross. I’ll stick with Reuters and Associated Press for news lol
I don’t even know who salon.com is - honestly seems like they’re fear-mongering for clicks and views.
Yeah, I was trying to find something more concrete than what was showing up in Google, but I could also just be misremembering that bit.
My memory is fuzzy and Google-fu isn’t finding it, but wasn’t Neverland searched after he passed and they found lewd photos of children in his possession? I swear to god I remember reading something like that maybe a couple years after he passed.
I did forget he fought to the bitter end till the DNC back in 2016 (jfc it’s been 8 years!), but he endorsed Hillary like, 2 weeks before the 2016 DNC.
I’ll leave the Wikipedia link here, but the DNC actively hated what Bernie was doing and basically were pro-Clinton from the start according to that email leak from right before the convention. So the Democratic Party effectively chose Hillary because they didn’t want Bernie on because they actively disliked his campaign. He was more popular than Hillary was, but ultimately Hillary was chosen by the Democratic Party.
As a fellow Bernie bro in 2016, do you not remember how many friggin memes were made with Bernie as Rick from Rick and Morty and how many people were talking about not wanting another Clinton in office? Only for him to pull out of the race and endorsing Hillary because Trump was actually getting waaaaay too much traction? And the fact the DNC also weren’t really jazzed with what Bernie was saying in general?
Tell me you don’t remember 2016 without telling me you don’t remember 2016.
I think people forget that the Democrats literally chose Hillary instead of Sanders - like, the Democratic Party purposefully chose Hillary despite the fact Bernie was actually more popular amongst people.
Not gonna start saying why because there’s probably a myriad of reasons, but the fact that the Democratic party had a chance to put in somebody who was at least saying really progressive stuff for the people of America that the people really liked and just chose a fucking Clinton instead should say something about the party.
Like how you’re getting downvotes because you’re speaking the truth.
US politics is literally “democrat bad” or “republican bad”, and both are apparently immune from criticism from anybody unless you’re criticizing the opposite team. Trump and the Republican party is unquestionably fucked up for being fascists, but that shouldn’t mean we can’t scrutinize whatever the hell the Dems are doing - and what they are not doing as well. We should hold our government accountable for what they do because we’re the goddamn people.
I say this as somebody who will vote Democrat - not because I actually want Biden, but because I don’t want Trump or a modern-day Republican as President.
To be fair, neither party has truly been a political party ever since lobbying has been an ok thing to do.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura
I’d get to laugh at every single wizard trying to board a train without it blowing up due to magic fucking up technology before I get screwed over by one of the soulless, greedy, vapid, mouth-breathing creatures known as gnomes.
But you’d be living in England and probably get stabbed by some chav’s unregistered butter knife
If you think porn and sexuality being normalized is a bad thing, you should reaaaaaaally think hard on your beliefs for a minute.
Sure, there’s the objectification of both men and women that pornography produces - that is a bad thing, but that’s not solely form porn either. Marketing ads love to objectify people (especially women) for an extra buck or two, and those are practically shoved in our faces openly every single day. Social media is basically just a gallery of this shit too if you’re just looking at whatever garbage the platform feeds you based on trends and what not.
Porn itself isn’t bad, and sexuality is arguably as important as both intellectual and emotional depth are because we’re humans and we have that primal part of our brains still. Yet in the US, for example, both of those things are worse than, say, a violent film. To me, that is the messed up part here.
It’s because they’re redditors, and most likely still use reddit - including ones that were all “iM gOnNa LeAvE rEdDiT” and deleted their account and posts.
I ended going back to reddit as well with a new account because I still have some niche communities that still go on there, and I don’t really dig using Discord servers for those communities. I also think the fediverse is slowly becoming a worse version of reddit by taking the worst habits of redditors and combining it with (as far as I know, at least) underdeveloped moderation tools.
CD-R since it’s better for compatibility and I actually had issues with RW in the past where I could only burn a CD once and not be able to rewrite on it. I was burning them as audio CDs for car use at the time.
Nowadays? Rip ‘em and slap them onto an external drive (maybe even onto the cloud if you wanna go that far), then toss out or donate the CD so you don’t have to lug that shit around. I’d rather buy the vinyl if it’s an album I really like.
Nah, if you want to use Reddit, go ahead and use Reddit.
Fediverse is slowly becoming Reddit 1.5 anyways - I actually went back to Reddit after not being able to find a few work- and hobby-related communities on the fediverse.
The original fat PS2 I got for Christmas 20-odd years ago. It still plays games perfectly fine if the discs aren’t too scratched up (RIP my bro’s copy of Marvel vs Capcom 1).
Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
I’ve been saying this more and more, but ever since 2016, the system has gone away from “vote for who you support” and more towards “vote against what you don’t support” for the presidential elections. We have somehow managed to have a good chunk of the US view these actually really important political processes as nothing more than blind fanaticism for “their team” - and that goes for both Team D and Team R.
