Bomb threats on Friday forced the evacuation and closure of public schoolsand municipal buildings for a second consecutive day, as the city continues to deal with sudden national attention because of false claims involving its Haitian population.

In addition to those school evacuations, several city commissioners and a municipal employee were the target of an emailed bomb threat, city spokesperson Karen Graves said.

A second email threatened multiple locations that included Springfield City Hall, Cliff Park High School, Perrin Woods Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Ohio License Bureau Southside, Graves added.

Former President Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, have pushed those false claims as part of a broader effort to use Springfield as an example of what they say are the harmful consequences of immigration.

A wild guess that they mean Kamala didn’t do much at the debate except let trump commit errors.

TBF he did terribly on the first debate as well, however he was able to form up his “terrible” strongly in mostly coherent lies that left Biden’s mumbled and lost “decent” truths in the dust.

This time Harris led strongly and let trump hang himself, which he did admirably at.

Funny how third parties always rear their heads at election time but remain almost entirely quiet the rest of the term. Where does the money come from?

I poked around and found the solution to the issue in the MakeMKV forums probably just as you posted this. Thank you.

I guess I could have included that. It’s just a generic muti-error output stating it couldn’t find any files or that the source may be copyright protected - something I figured libdvdcss was supposed to work around.

Hmm…gave that a try just now and it said the version was too old (? odd, it was the latest listed) and asked for a registration…

Not sure what I did incorrectly, but that was the route I started on before looking for other ways to backup my collection… I dropped the libdvdcss in my Handbrake directory as was suggested on other sites, but Handbrake throws an error every time.

They say this shit all the time. They don’t accept responsibility for anything they do.

But he has their prejudices, incel misogyny, and hatreds on public display. That’s good enough for many.

Also, there are far too many that see the world burning as some kind of entertainment. I hate to be the old guy yelling at people on the lawn, but I don’t know if the popular social media theme of destroying or damaging things, or doing mean shit to people for lols, is a symptom or a display that encourages or makes that behavior ok. There’s no consequences for that behavior, it’s entertainment, and some of that same attitude seems to bleed over into real-life actions.

I have definitely worked with people who voted for trump for no other reason than lols and to stir shit up.
