The big donors want the ROI, and big businesses are dictatorships. Those dictatorships align more with fascist/conservative policies more than they do liberal so democrats don’t want to upset the big business donors by inconveniencing their profit stream.

Strong incentive to not step down if you can just keep being a crook. Watch how quick the republicans start to argue over what is “official” and what isn’t depending on who is president.

Ok, so if presidents are shielded, I think Biden should fire the scotus, reinstate a liberal one, then have them rescind the ruling.

I’ll also offer the “sameness” of everything at malls. Let’s say you want jeans. There’s five shops that carry jeans. You want “normal” jeans, iow, not torn, not bleached, etc. Each shop carries jeans, but they are all some version of torn, worn, bleached, etc. For all the variety, they’re all the same.

Plus, mall overhead and branding makes the shops quite often more expensive than you might find at something like a Target or even a Kohls.

I’ve found that taking my kids to the mall to check out clothing we more often than not buy nothing despite visiting a half dozen shops. It’s all variations of the same thing along with being designer pricing.

I agree on some points, the peace in Palestine while still sending weapons to Israel is just absurd. However the coherence of Republican policy is its reductionist simplicity and that it publicly really has nothing to do with running the country - while quietly working on their project 202x theofascist plans.

But then that’s a problem with liberal policy, it’s constantly trying to juggle all the needs of the many different groups in the country vs Republican policy which says there’s only one policy: Theirs.

What a disaster. I can’t remember the last time I saw a decent presidential debate, they all devolve into completely failing to answer the questions and just attacking the opponent. The only thing this new format did was prevent them from constantly talking over the opponent when their time was up.

What the hell happened to Biden? I mean, he’s old…but normally his speaking is far, far better despite his stutter. He could hardly get coherent rebuttals out half the time and had a hard time enunciating his policy goals.

Trump…nothing but a torrent of lies, [insert group] loves me, and “hurr durr you’re stupid, Biden.” But he was able to spew his word salad clearly.

They should have had fact-checkers, but the problem is that trump told so many lies so fast that 75% of the debate would have been the moderators having to correct trump’s bs.

This was embarrassing, to put it mildly. Terrifying to see trump look better than Biden - if you ignore what was actually said.
