Consumables are always the best gifts. I don’t even bother with anything else anymore, unless it’s something that I made myself because then it has sentimental value.

Boiled linseed oil is not food safe because it isn’t actually boiled. The chemicals you’re talking about are added to achieve the same change that boiling normally achieves, but it is a cheaper process so corporations lobbied for the right to called chemically treated linseed oil “boiled”, even though it’s objectively false.
It’s a great example of a corporate conspiracy.
they develop community-based committees which have no actual power in themselves but are used to develop concensus on issues that affect the whole community. So rather than abolishing all rules they’re all about human collaboration and concensus.
So it’s a democracy.
Xtians? Are we serious? Good grief lol
Extra shoelaces? I don’t remember ever needing extra shoelaces ever in my life.
I swear some people legitimately could do that. Some people really are high on life. But most of us aren’t.
The happiness from within thing is just a cheesy way of saying you have to make yourself happy. If the phrase isn’t useful to you, you don’t have to use it. It would be a lot more realistic to say “Happiness comes from putting in the effort and work to make yourself happy, primarily through delayed gratification.”
I thought about this stuff a lot for years. The thing that broke me out of it was choosing to focus on myself.
No one else can make you happy. Happiness comes from within. So focus on yourself. Develop new skills and hobbies, spend your time doing what you enjoy. If you find other people who enjoy the same things, that’s great, if not, also great because there’s nothing wrong with enjoying life on your own.
I sure hope friends are better than just tolerable.
Let’s go with enjoyable. Tolerable is like the bare minimum for how to behave around other people. Friends are more than the bare minimum.
A friend is someone who reciprocates enjoyable presence.
TL;DR OP becomes religious in his search for video game Easter eggs.
That’s called murder-suicide.
I’m not even a woodworker really, but … No. It’s indoors, it’s not even in the bathroom which is basically the only place you have to worry about humidity.
If you really want a cheap preservative, you can use mineral oil. I’ve restored the handles of most of my garden tools with just sanding and mineral oil, and they’ve stayed quite sound even being outside year round. I even did a raised garden bed like that three years ago and it doesn’t show a spot of decay, even the parts covered by soil. And it gets watered three times a day so it’s very wet.
I’ll admit that’s a much higher standard than what I had in mind lol
A shop vac, some dryer tubing, and some of your wood working skills will build you a custom dust collector system for not much money. If you really hate dust that much.
Can’t wait for the apocalypse when all these idiots make swords to fight with and I’m going to have a long ass spear.
Everybody finds those memes relatable. Most of those memes are just regular human things.
It’s one of those things that sounds really cool when you describe it because you use lots of big techy words, but ultimately it’s just some weird noises.
You should introduce it just as abstract sound art, or something, and then people will have a realistic expectation and you can elaborate on techniques if they show further interest.
As someone who casually likes classical music, I can’t stand talking to people who like classical music. They’re all elitist twits. It’s like how metalheads get all aloof because they understand “real” music, except with classical there’s actually a legitimate culture of elitism that has existed for centuries, and they think that a history of elitism somehow justifies the attitude.
It’s funny how reverting to pictograms is being construed as “new”.
Things will never improve if we don’t point to something better and aspire to it.
It’s why Canada sucks so much. Every time one of our problems is being talked about, everyone compares ourselves to the US and shrugs. When you point to something better it’s unattainable, but at least we’re not as bad as america!! We’re a country of apathy.
