Damn, if only Spez didn’t have fucked up Reddit. I even wanted to invest in that IPO, but now I’m not going to.

Listening to music. There’s so much and I easily could spend a week just on artists from YouTube.
Into the breach. One of the best mobile games there is. Sadly you can’t get it legally anymore without Netflix subscription.
I agree with everything. Though we shouldn’t forget that Lemmy also allows for that sort of mindless scrolling and it needs afford to not get trapped in that. It’s far from perfect but it’s still better than nothing, because as you said, we gain so much from all the interactions, discussions and topics to engage in. Personally I believe we also always grow to become a better person via engaging instead of only consuming or ignoring. Of course you can still build your own bubble, but that’s with everything.
I enjoy how OP implemented this little hell into some people’s mind.
Nutella breakfast. I just love it so much. Also a lot of sitting because of PC gaming.
That’s really cool. I got to do that with my Reddit account. Thx
Start small and do one thing right and stick to it. Look at a YouTube video explaining you how to do that one exercise correctly. If you feel pain, you do it wrong.
That’s it, that’s the whole magic.
Start with something light, like 5 pushups, every other day and keep doing so. Soon you wan to do 5 pushups and 5 deadlifts and 5 crunches. Then you start to quadruple the amount and at some point your workout becomes too long, so you split it up. That’s it, you’re in.
All these fitness apps are total overkill. You start the workout and then boom “do these 20 things in 40 reps”. Nah, that’s how people get frustrated and stop.
Also sore muscles will go away at some point. I only ever get sore muscles when I work out something new or had a long break.
I do. Just fixed an iPod Nano 6G via soldering in a new battery. I love to not have to carry my phone when doing sport and not have to buy an expensive smartwatch, just to be able to listen to music. Also the battery lasts 2 days worth listening to music. You don’t have that with Bluetooth earbuds. The new battery will last year’s, while wireless earbuds stop working after 1 or two years. It has aux which is just unreplaceable in my eyes.
I hate how we have downgraded to large phones…
For breakfast if you drink milk and eat nothing acidic (like fruits) that would weaken the enamel, brushing after the meal is the best.
Also brushing your teeth does slightly damage your teeth, which salvia will repair. I don’t want sugar in my slightly damaged teeth, nor do I want sugar on them for the rest of the day, until I brush in the evening. I like to extend the duration of brushed teeth to the maximum. Meaning over night clean and after breakfast, til often evening when I eat once more. With midday being all clean without extra brushing.
Thanks to Musk we also know they can be really dumb.
Only half, we got to push harder.
Exactly , but not only that, time limited grind will force you to play even if you don’t feel like it, as they abuse your FOMO. Even worse in free2play games.
Then you have grind achievements from battle pass or equal, like “win 10 matches to get X requirement” which will make you furious once you lost 10 matches in a row. Because they are rigged, to extend your playtime.
Stop online multiplayer. They are designed to keep you in the rage loop. After a while you notice how bad they were for your health. Look for good coop games and learn basics about stoicism.
Reddit made it so you can’t downvote from a profile page, it simply wouldn’t count. You had to open every comment individually and vote on them. Sorry that it is happening to you. Maybe make a new account, karma isn’t that important, yet we all feel more welcome if there’s positive votes.
Wow, do so many people believe Lemmy user are that much different than Reddit user? I mean I can totally forego all the bots, incels and astroturfing, but I do believe they migrate automatically once a platform got big enough. I don’t think there’s any way to stop that unless you want to keep Lemmy small forever.
Lemmy needs to grow because Reddit needs to go. Reddit has become too powerful for a greedy company like that.
Reddit got more important once it Google ranked higher and the astroturfs found out, that people trust a review on Reddit inside a thread more, than multi million dollar marketing scam action, trying to game Google algorithm or other sites. The same will sooner or later happen to the fediverse if it ever grows. It’s unavoidable, sadly.
