And it’s not like you can screw off into the forest to live a self-sufficient life either, because I’m pretty sure that’s illegal in most places in the world. If the forest isn’t already devoid of resources due to human activity that is.

I feel like every time people say “yeah but it’s overall getting better” is missing the first for the trees. Because, yeah, what about climate change? Or the general trends in global politics?
I think it’s easy to form an argument from history that were moving towards dark times. It’s not all that awful yet, but it’s gonna be.
That’s assuming you will need the whole room. There’s plenty of efforts into making room scale viable in smaller spaces.

It’s unlikely ads would bring in any significant amount of money from them se people, in that case.
And it’s why the collective should be fighting against this trend. But in recent times billionaires came to be revered more than anything. It’s changing course a bit now again, but billionaires, and people in power in general, are still being defended way more than is reasonable.
Society treats being in power and being powerful as success and something to aspire to, and we can see where that leads.
More like importing the goods from other countries with looser regulations
Also did this person really refer to an experience they had 12 years ago??
I can’t even remember the shit that happened to me 2 years ago. The world was an entirely different place back then.
With some high voltage long-range transmission lines you could viably do it pretty much everywhere. Just requires some cooperation.
Yes it will slightly reduce efficiency over very long distances, but it’s not unreasonable amounts.
Don’t underestimate the battery potential of gravity!
According to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumped-storage_hydroelectricity#:~:text=The round-trip energy efficiency, sources claiming up to 87%25. The round-trip efficiency of pumped storage is 70-80%, that’s pretty darn good for cheap mass-storage. There’s not much more to gain there.
The truth is, we do have enough resources. We just care more about the economy and profit than our future climate (which will also strongly affect the economy, but that’s in the future so…).
If we actually valued the climate as much as we ought to, switching fully to renewables would be a bargain.
Do you think it’s going to be significantly less than in other places? What would be the reason for that?
This is a weird mentality and not my experience at all. Many women love and are deep into games. You just need to be a nice person and keep meeting people… and like, actually meet new people, many struggle with that part.
It may be less but certainly not a “rare minority”.
It’s not just your companions, which could have been seen as just being “player-sexual”, but also NPC characters in relationship with other NPC characters, which are more direct statements.
It seems absurd to me that we’re spending effort on reversing entropic processes (effectively unburning burned carbon by filtering it through a mixed atmosphere) when there are far more straightforward solutions involving not burning that carbon in the first place. Or, hell, even just putting carbon filters on the power plants.
Because the second law of thermodynamics applies here. It will always be more efficient, simpler, and cheaper to not release the carbon in the first place. And if we are not even doing that… What solution could direct air capture ever provide?
Except you feel this even if you’re in your 20s. It’s not exactly an old thing lol
Hell, even over the last 3 years it’s super obvious
