Conservatives don’t cancel, in their minds, because being cancelled is inherently unjust according to them. It’s unjust because it pretty much only happens to them as they’re the ones doing heinous shit to people, and they don’t pay attention when someone who isn’t openly conservative gets cancelled for bad behaviour.

They live in the alternate relaity built for them by their media and they lack the ability to pause when they hear something a little crazy and check it out.

Ya know, it’s always sucked so much having to watch evil people get away with shit and growing old more less ok. Getting to watch Trump’s brain falling to pieces with such detail is kinda fun, in a morbid way.

A guy like this in a sane country should have a 5% rating because you just can’t get everyone to not be completely garbage. 40% on his side and the military and every other armed fed goon is insanity. The only thing sinking in is that I somehow managed to underestimate just how fucking stupid they, and the rest of the world who enables this behaviour, really are.

I just like how it’s been a a decent while, given the context, and I haven’t seen a tonne of news regarding this. The US gets away with this stuff because everyone just lets them.

At some point the US needs to just accept that it’s always been broken. Every time something happens media comes out acting like everything was perfectly fine until this very recent thing happened.

That shithole country is a never-ending slog of pain and suffering.

I real’y don’t blame them. Here in Canada we have more than two options but constantly throw our progressive one under the bus to vote “strategically”. Now our “centrists” are conservatives that are selling off our resources to private companies and our progressives are weaker than they have been in a long time.

Centrists have one weapon, and it’s not their policies. It’s the fear the fear of the further right wing party. Look at how they fought Mamdani despite him handing them a win, they do not give a shit about anything except making sure that people are too afraid to vote properly. The US is a shit hole with or without the DNC and they only care about votes so it’s time to take those votes away from them.

I think conservatives are stupid, hateful thugs but centrists are a kind of slimy evil that I just refuse to get behind. I know that I’ve had a positive affect on some conservatives because many are dumb as rocks while believing they’re doing good, but centrists I know are often two-faced liars who want to look good on the surface while still doing or allowing all the same crap conservative leaders do.

Authoritarians who did everything they could to make this dude feel like he should be a literal king are mad that he doesn’t give a fuck what they say. Crazy.

And I’d prefer having someone whose goals are actually progressive but who struggles to realize them than someone who will succeed at their promises to be horrible little shit-stains.

That isn’t what they were saying at all. The first person said they hoped that the bad shit would be undone by the next adminstration and the person you responded to mentioned past examples where new administrations did not do a lot, if anything, to undo awful policy. They didn’t say that the Democrats were just as bad but they rightly pointed out that said party doesn’t really put a lot of effort into fixing what was broken.

That’s not really the gotcha you think it is. Yea, the US weny from fighting with guns for labour rights to letting the gig-economy chew them up and sometimes they protest until they get tired and go home.

And the police and military don’t clash with civilians in other countries? They bring those people in because they’re scared little babies, not because the US people will actually do anything.

If you look at other countries, even comfier European ones, you should at least be at the mass protests stage. It’s funny how much the US generally mocks the French but they wish they had a spine like that.

Marching steadily on the carbon-copy path of Nazi Germany for over a decade has only brought people to attending organized protests that the adminstration can just ignore(even better, Trump posted that AI video of him in a crown dumping shit on protestors). Ya’ll won’t ever get guillotines if even this only seems to result in mild agitation among the general populace.

At least, unlike various others, he’s basically already dead and trapped in his failing body. On a related note, watching Mitch McConnel completely disappear from this plane of existence during that one reporter’s question was so nice.

Fucking is it? How many more “big deals” does that stupid fucking country need before they actually do something?

And to add that people shooting at a drone is not any kind of true danger to human life and so obliterating them from the skies is kinda ridiculous.
