The general trend should be for instance admins to want to eliminate bots. Bots use resources but don’t donate. The opposite is true on reddit where MAU numbers increase investment and equal money. There’s negative incentive for platforms like that to remove bots.
I hear there’s some sort of AI mandate coming but no idea what it is yet. A few coworkers poke at chatGPT for basic coding questions. I will not use it for anything at this point. IT here is mostly useless contractors so they can’t tell what we’re doing and they can’t make us do anything. My direct reporting chain will back me working how I want to work so I don’t foresee any issues.
I fully recognize I’m in a highly privileged position that many others aren’t. But I’m going to take full advantage and keep my sanity.

Just like the no kings protests and the people standing up to ICE raids, it’s about using the power you have to say no. He’s a senator and he has the power to waste their time and make them sit in a place they don’t want to be. It’s not much, it’s probably not enough, but not doing anything is worse.

The last name trump on the ticket will trick a significant number of people into thinking they got their 3rd term wish.

Pangolin continues to deliver wildly useful features.

I tried and bounced off of several of the other popular auth providers over the years. PocketID was the first one I found reasonable to set up and configure.

I moved my entire public facing set of services over to Pangolin a little over a month ago. It’s been pretty sweet. I really like the auth system and they just integrated custom oidc providers so I’ve got pocketID set up with it as well.

It Takes Two was fun time with 2 people. The story is a little corny but overall enjoyable.
This is exactly the kind of insanity we need around here. I think some of these choices are bonkers and that’s great.
