Ah yes we should wait for the number of deaths/displacements to get higher to call it a genocide and only then do something to stop it. And I’m not entirely sure but that 35,000 figure is just the number of civilians killed in this current conflict, not accounting for the number killed over the many years this issue has been going on and not accounting for the people who have been kicked out of their homes to make way for Israeli settlers.

Yeah his strategy was and still very much is to just say things, see how people react, and if there’s enough applause it becomes policy and if there is enough backlash then it’s walked back and he said he misspoke and then never talks about the issue again.

I mean reading the article it just seems like he’s actually trying to spend the money that the acts allowed before the election. Which if the money is put to good use would help make him look better going into the election. It just also has the good side effect of making it impossible for Trump to undo it since the money has been spent.

I mean at least when it comes to design it was shit in the past cause either it was being done by people who didn’t know much about design or it was something new and people didn’t know what would be a good design for it. Now it’s shit cause making it shit in certain ways let’s companies make more money.

The thing I’ve always noticed about getting more monitors is that you never really think you need one more monitor until you end up getting one somehow. After that you start getting used to the extra space and it feels wrong to go back to having less. When I originally had one monitor I was just used to that and didn’t see anything wrong with it. Once I got two monitors I again felt good and got used to it. It was really nice to be able to watch stuff while playing games or have Unity and Visual Studio on separate screens at the same time. Eventually I got a nicer monitor and decided to go up to 3 monitors which again felt really nice and I found uses for all 3. That’s where I’m at now and I don’t have plans to get anymore but if I ever got a newer monitor there’s a good chance I would end up giving 4 a try cause why let one of my older but still good monitors go to waste. And I imagine I would still be able to find uses for the extra space. I feel like at some point there is a limit but at least so far every time I’ve gained more monitor space even when I’m not sure what I would use it for I always end up using that extra space for something.

I think your first point is probably the main one that affects this. People are in a good position generally as they get older so they don’t wanna rock the status quo. But with all the warning bells going off about how Millennials and Gen Z are never gonna be able to afford houses or be able to retire that is indicating the shift might not happen. Cause if they don’t have anything to maintain then why would they shift conservative?

Seems like pretty normal American stuff in South America. The US working with bad people to undermine democracy to ward away the boogeyman of Socialism.

Yeah this is the same kind of thing they did at another one of these events in the past with the whole “Ladies and gentlemen, we are all domestic terrorists.” thing. It was meant as a joke to make fun of what the liberals were saying but at the same time it wasn’t entirely inaccurate.

I have two very different kinds of games I did this with.

The first was Undertale, didn’t really get into it at first and stopped playing it around half way through. However after I watched someone else beat the game I got a lot more into it and finally beat all the main endings. Really liked the story and it quickly became one of my favorites after that.

The other is the Crusader Kings games. I got one of them when I was pretty young through a humble bundle and did not understand how it worked at all. Then near the end of highschool I finally tried them again along with playing Stellaris and thats when I was finally able to figure out how to play them and got super into a lot of Paradox’s games.

I’ve managed to avoid giving up the headphone jack, using a Pixel 5a right now. Although when I eventually have to get my next phone I have a feeling there might not be many choices left with the headphone jack.

I think the problem I’ve noticed with Lemmy is I tend to only get the more popular communities showing up over and over again. Reddit was at least a little better about showing smaller subreddits I visited in my main feed at least somewhat often. Not sure if I just need to change how I sort on Lemmy, I currently use hot and subscribed.
