That idea has to be planted by someone arguing in bad faith, and repeated in many forms for someone to begin to believe it.

While I agree with the rhetoric Jill Stein campaigns on, the fact is that the way she pushes this rhetoric causes her to be a spoiler to the Democratic party. If we were under a parliamentary system, I would vote for Jill Stein to be my representative. But because our system is locked to two parties, I have to distrust her.

Most of the people who vote for him will never be informed about the most appalling and repulsive things he says, because all their news comes filtered through media streams that are designed to prop up the conservative candidate, no matter who, and to discredit the facts that makes that candidate look bad.

But even if everyone who voted for him knew he said these things, they would still be the minority of Americans, because he lost the popular vote in 2016.

I don’t have to be related to someone to be able to imagine what life would be like in their shoes, how what I would want to do if in their position might affect others, and ultimately whether or not we should ban something, provide aid for something, or ignore something.

The republican electorate seems largely incapable of doing that, and that’s why republican officials act surprised when people vote for the good of anyone other than themselves.

I would argue that even if those changes couldn’t be made because politics, that at least documenting everyone who enters would have the effect of more accurate data than census and job reports can provide, because one is a 10-year process and the other is excluding non-working immigrants and those who do work exclusively under the table

Uncontrolled immigration IS a bad thing, because properly documenting the people who enter our country is vital for providing public services in a manner that reflects the population makeup.

Nearly everyone agrees that undocumented border crossings should be reduced, they disagree on how to do this.

Do I think it’s bad that one man has as much power has he does? Absolutely. Am I glad that at least one man with as much power as he does uses it to make the world a little better? You bet.
