Just note that you can use Liftoff on desktop, and I think thunder too, but not sure.

TIL, Tnx. I only knew about the client and obviously that’s what I thought that person meant

Everyone loves cute kittens right…right?
Empathy and kindness all over, no countries, borders or nations exist, just humans. People and corps no longer powered by greed as much as these days, and general thinking of how to keep growing and do better as a specie.
Yep. the whole vaping industry got ruined because of this, and it wasn’t even related to said industry. I guess it’s just another example of what lobbying is capble of.
While with tabbaco, as @fubo@lemmy.world said
the smoking/cancer connection was noticed long before peak cigarette smoking in the population. Prior to WWII, lung cancer was considered a rare disease. That changed with the mass marketing of cigarettes.
With vaping, lots of studies on pg/vg vaping was done and not much has been found. The UK gov supports it for years now. Most of the bad name of vaping caused by people who didn’t bother to research or people who confused it with the EVALI cases, which bought their products illegally and contained vitamin E
Dry herb vape: I mainly use it with cannabis and for me it gives clearer effects, better taste, use wayy less material (I can use 0.05-0.1g per bowl, which is enough for me for a whole night), more control of the high when wanted (different temperatures gives different results basically). More easy and discrete to operate on the go, and not bond to smoke a whole j if I decide to get high (last two depends on the device though) and also gave me a fun hobby.
If you want to buy one, fell free to ask for advice at !vaporents@lemmy.beyondcombustion.net and be aware as some devices at regular shops are health hazard (looking at you, Gpen)

Actually pasteboard looks pretty good, I wonder how long the imgs stays online. Thanks for that.
The deleted comments don’t get deleted too tho. The last edit is saved on the server anyways, so if you really want to delete something, edit it first and then delete it.
Isn’t this comment deleted for you too? (I replied twice by mistake)
Anyway, yeah I completely agree. But as I replayed to a user at my other reply:
I don’t believe that, assuming an average person host an instance, the host will want some random people metadata from photos. It’s not big corps that process every bit of data they get.
Of course, I said that too. And unless you self host yourself you have to trust the instance you’re using. But the question itself was more about lemmy in general, and most people just deploy the docker image or something.
Also, I don’t believe that, assuming an average person host an instance, the host will want some random people metadata from photos. It’s not big corps that process every bit of data they get.
But it is an open source project and the developers views are strongly in favor of privacy, so yeah you can self host it or check the source code. But I think it’s safe to assume they didn’t program it like that.
Note that people who host an instance theoretically change it, but still I wouldn’t worry it’ll actually happen.

This.
If you have a phone with snapdragon CPU you probably can extend it’s lifespan with custom ROMs that offers security updates. Mine released in 2019, support dropped at android 11, but unofficial LOS with android 13 works great and still updates regularly. No complains here, even the OTA works. Although I do need to flash manually because of root. I don’t see myself upgrade anytime soon.
Why’s that? I actually find all the desktop apps shows the Post’s imgs/gifs as a small thumbnail, which I don’t like when scrolling the feed. For me everything there works well and pretty convenient.
