Dutch, we don’t dub our movies (luckily) and prefer easy trading over valueing our own language. My biggest problem is finding an accent that fits me. Should I go for posh British, 'Murican, or Dutch “steenkolen Engels”?

Went sailing for a day without any shirt on. Worst sunburn ever. Luckily we had to practice for a musical at school where we would put our arms around eachother at some point, i skipped that part for a bit.

I learned quite a lot of Norwegian by just beig in Norway for three months. I especially enjoyed watching television with the subtitles for the hearing impared turned on.

The grosest thing I’ve done is probably that time I had sex with someone who forgot to take out her moon cup after having her period. The smell was “not great”.

However, since it was a suprise for both of us it did not have this awful anticipation of having to do something disgusting. We just found out after the fact.

Another good contender was having to clean the shower in the morning after a drunk guy shit in it when we took him home the night before because he was laying in the street and not able to go home by himself.

Also very smelly.

The guy actually left the house before we woke up, but without his shoes. He also tried to access through the garden, even though that was a garden without access to the road. I still have no idea how he managed to get out of there. He never came back for his shoes. I wonder why!

Was personally worked from Spain for half a year last winter and in my experience it is nice, but I found it harder to mingle with the Spanish at times. Their English was not amazing and it seems they have a tight knit community, with which I mean if you are not family it’s hard to get in.

I personally would consider Portugal more. I have a few very nice Portuguese colleagues which maybe helps because they show us around when we’re there, but in general I found it easier to connect to people there. And apart from the climate (Portugal can be very wet and a little bit cooler because of the ocean), they have all the good things Spain has (food, drink, a more laid back way of celebrating live). And they have pasteis de nata, which is a reason to live there in itself.

Just be careful with eating francesinha during lunch.

“Good” and “bad” are pretty hard to define.

This question reminds me of the “Why is the Ameican government the best government in the world”-scene in “Thank you for smoking”. (Recommend the movie, not the American government)

Just do what you think is best, that’s all you need to know.

Trees are great.

Look into Aylla for good quality leather shoes (buy once, cry once) and I also enjoy my Freet shoes for when I want/need sporty shoes.

For the Aylla shoes I would recommend investing in some shoe trees, because the leather will wrinkle without those because the shoes are so flexible.

And for non-european: Jim Green barefoot. Bit less flexible than the Aylla’s, but amazing quality at a very reasonable price. I don’t think you can find more durable barefoot style shoes.

We hapily skipped all the over-hyped family diners with lots of drama and went for s pyjama party with cheese-fondeu with only one good friend coming over. Can recommend, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What worked for me was to stop seeing friends that smoked and to go for a run every time I felt like getting a cigarette, instead of getting the cigarette.

35 y/o orange Opel Kadett. Would stall when cornering. Funily enough at the same time also the best car I owned. Fixed it once using the belt from my pants. Belt was on there for years.

Pretty sure the rural concerns trumped the urban ones in the last elections in the Netherlands.
