I can sum it up in one word: age.

Look, I’m no spring chicken. My age starts with a 4 now, and it seems the age gap between me and the age of the president hasn’t changed.

After closely following the Ukrainian War and learning all the nuances and history in that…I just don’t have the energy or time to do the same about a whole new conflict.

I found paint.net a much better experience than GIMP. Now, I’m not that into photo editing, but it’s a much easier user experience for me.

An example being that you don’t need a 7 step solution just to deselect something. You can just click outside of the canvas.

Does it have all the bells and whistles of GIMP? Eh, not really, but there is a forum where people make individual packages for it, and there are a lot.

It’s like picking up chewing to quit smoking.

It’s not the same, but it does scratch that itch.

Mostly guys had that name, though it was pretty neat.

1. Doom I and II with who knows how many hours since Christmas 1996.

2. Minecraft since 2011.

3. Binding of Issac with close to 1k hours.

4. Factorio with 850+ hours and currently rising.

Here’s the thing. Reddit had me hooked on it like no other until the API fuck up. Pretty much dropped it on it the spot.

After the first week it dawned on me how much time I was spending there.

So while I setup here, much less time is being spent online overall. But the interaction has jumped up immensely.

My garden is looking better and I’m hitting the gym much more often.

I probably would do the same as I love what the job entails.

I’m pushing 40 and basically have everything settled and really don’t need a lot. Have my house, garden, friends, ect. Money would just be a nice stress relief at this point.

Only problem I could see is that at the place I work is a 503©. So when/if the higher ups learn of my winnings, they’d either beg for donations or fire me.

Probably the former as the department is already short staffed and you need a license to do this job.

That’s about how it’s explain it.

In reality, growing up in the rural midwest makes it more complex than that. I have a ton of left and right ideologies that contradict them selves, with no compromise in sight.
