Yep. A few of the big boys are pushing for hybrid but I think the great majority will never be full time in the office again.

I’m having a ribeye, gratin potatoes, brussel sprouts, and a slice of pie. I’m having a glass of Maker’s 46 to cap it off.
I chose to eat alone tonight so I didn’t do all the fixings, but it’s enough for me. Last week was a tough one and for three days I’ve chosen not to deal with people. I may go out for a nightcap later but I’m not going to be dealing with anyone while I do.
I’ll do to you what I do to other unwanted pests! I’ll yell “Go-on, getonouttahurr!” ineffectually while shooing you away with whatever I’ve got at hand.
I have junk scissors that I buy for a couple of bucks and replace as necessary for all the things that I need to cut. I also have kitchen junk scissors for cutting open plastic that food gets packaged in. If I found someone using my poultry shears or kitchen knives for anything besides their intended use I would ask them to leave and never come back.
Don’t touch my tools. That includes the things in my garage, my kitchen tools (cookware, knives, shears, barbecue stuff, whatever), and my electronics tools. I can’t imagine someone using one of my instruments incorrectly, but don’t touch those either. If you want to touch anything, ask. Don’t be surprised if I try to make sure you know the right way to use it before I hand it over.
Pine is so soft and the pores are so big that it soaks up everything. For me, pine is for painting.
Is it really even a different suit? With the “reality is a simulation” theory it’s likely whoever created the simulation offloaded a bunch of the mundane tasks to an AI that, if we were to try to interact with it, would be god.
I’m not saying I believe any of it. And I want to make sure you know I’m not shitting on your post because I like the way you’re looking at it.
I have a thousand wires hidden under my couch, my rug, my chair, and anywhere else I can hide them. Chargers, home theater, other chargers, smart-ish devices, and whatever else that I don’t even want to go look at.
I’m terrified it’ll eat all my cables because that’s what my last one did.
I am in my 40s and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.
For real though, I had a variety of jobs when I got out of school. I went into the military, went to college for something that I didn’t want to do, worked in several fields, fell into a job in technology, went back to school, and I’ll retire doing this unless something drastically changes.
Zork. The original graphics were garbage.
I can’t speak to much of this, but I have a friend who works on the technical side of health insurance. Specifically he is helping with FHIR. I did some HL7 work a long time ago which lets health systems talk to each other. FHIR is supposed to be a more comprehensive offshoot (I asked if it was HL7 on steroids and wasn’t corrected).
Unfortunately, I may have misunderstood. My career took me a different path than his so I’m way out of date on it.
I want someone to call him Diaper Don to his face. Just once.
It’s the kind of place that will yee your haw.
I have a Tailscale subnet router set up locally and added the remote IPs to my router. Tailscale on every device was a crapshoot as to whether it would route locally or through the VPN.
I asked support and they said it should be on every device. Could be something else on my network forcing it to act like that but I don’t have enough give-a-shit in me to troubleshoot it.
Those shit-pissing fuckwads can take my offensive language when they pry it from my cold, dead cunt.
Dammit.
Yeah, Eternity (the Infinity fork for Lemmy) is comparably new.
I’ve really been enjoying it.
Do you mean greatest as in most grievous or greatest as in most awesome?
We used to put warm beer, ice, and salt in a cooler to cool the beer down quickly on Friday after work. It worked great for that.
That’s no fucking joke. Please just send me an email about this meeting because it’s not really worthwhile and I just want to crank out code.
