Stop turning defectors away.2·4 days agoAs soon as they kept supporting him after the “grab them by the pussy” tape, they revealed what hateful bigots they all were. Just because they get dissatisfied with their cult leader doesn’t mean they stop being hateful bigots.
Also the dissent has already been stopped. They have fallen back into line, like the goosestepping nazis they are.

The American way of doing things in this regard is not terribly widespread.
So no, this is not about lofty and universal concepts like “social contract” or anything like that, it is about specific constitutional designs, which are not the same everywhere. Especially the “checks and balances” system.
breecher@sh.itjust.worksto politics @lemmy.world•America’s famed ‘checks-and-balances’ governance system is failing1·4 days agoCaring about corruption impartially. They may care about it if it is the opposing team doing it, but are perfectly willing to ignore it if it is their own team. And with “they” I mean the Republicans.
breecher@sh.itjust.worksto politics @lemmy.world•America’s famed ‘checks-and-balances’ governance system is failing4·5 days agoYeah, more like infamous. Basically all other Western democracies have looked at the US system and thought “yeah, we are going to do something else”, except for the ones who were militarily pressed into adopting something akin to the US constitution.
breecher@sh.itjust.worksto politics @lemmy.world•America’s famed ‘checks-and-balances’ governance system is failing11·5 days agoThere are no “independent branches of government”. They are all governed by people of the same party. Your assumption copies the beliefs of the original founders that some imaginary “civic duty” would overrule all partisanship, when all recorded political history going back to the earliest civilisations show us that partisanship is an inevitable phenomenon in human societies.

There is no revolt against Trump, they are just waiting for the official Trump propaganda excuse, and in the meanwhile are left to their own moronic devices.

Dying from a natural disaster from which you could have escaped to own the libs. Dying from all sorts of reasons, just to own the libs.
It is a shame that there seemingly is an endless supply of these hateful morons, because even with all the dying they still manage to control the US politically.

Never trust anything they say, it was pure posturing. Judge them for their actions, or lack of them. So when one of those inbred sycophants says they are going against Trump, don’t believe them until they actually do (which will be never).
