First thing, pull out any unneeded cables. The old red/white/yellow set from your VCR that you don’t use any more? Yank it out.
A rotunda is a round building, usually with a dome ceiling. This particular one is the University of Virginia rotunda.
There’s a man who knows his rotundas.
Fairly minimalist, I like the big clock and the step meter.
Sure. Happiness is something you need to curate, and it’s a state of mind. Lowered expectations can help. I don’t need a huge house and expensive cars and lots of material possessions. That is just more to maintain and pay for.
If I have my health and my family and friends are reasonably healthy/happy and I have free time to spend as I please, I’m happy. I try to play as much as I work, that’s the balance that works for me.
Salty but also I’ve had some great spiral cut sugar cured ham.
Virginia ham is quite tasty.
I’m sitting outside under a patio with a roof during a mild thunderstorm right now. Very relaxing.
To me bird nests and beaver dams are made with natural materials found in nature, and with little or no manufacturing and refinement. Think of all that human building materials go through during the manufacturing process. Yes the materials ultimately come from the Earth but then go through many refinement processes and assembly steps, and I think each step moves it farther from natural. You don’t see shingles and sheet rock laying around in a forest, those things are not natural.
Basically any bodywork job involving painting panels is going to cost at least $800. And if it’s multiple body panels it will be more.
I’ve tried Jerboa and Thunder, but I find myself using Jerboa mostly.
Let me be probably the only one to say Now for Reddit.
I think capitalism is fine to an extent. It’s when companies become too large that their scale and power enshittify things.
Pay off my house, pay off close friends and family houses, buy a bunch of land, buy cool cars, travel.
We did reindeer; Dasher, Dancer, Vixen, etc.
If you were scheduled to work it is a reasonable thing to do though.
Use fans. Air blowing on you will make you feel cooler. If you don’t have air conditioning some houses can benefit from one fan blowing inwards from the cool/shady side of the house and one fan blowing outwards on the hot/sunny side of the house.
Try to do outdoor things early in the morning or late in the evening. If you need to be outdoors during the hottest parts of the day stay in the shade, wear sunscreen, move more slowly, drink plenty of water.
This, big time. Pretty much every product or package contains some plastics, including so many one-time use disposable ones. Plastics are infesting the Earth from pole to pole, they are everywhere. Clothes are made of plastic, do laundry and a bunch of microplastics go down the drain. Car tires drop microplastics as they wear. And then there’s all the large ones we can see like plastic bags, bottles, etc.
