Interesting take - he looked pretty stupid to me
Biden stepped down, what do you want at this point? This article is about Trump’s mental decline, you know - the other senile old guy who is still running for president.
Wow, that is both insightful and a major burn.
He is a human being.
I have real trouble with this. He seems to lack any kind of human qualities - no empathy, no wit or warmth.
If someone ripped his orange mask off, Scooby Doo style, and it revealed some kind of mindless racist/sexist slur and weak-insult spouting robot underneath, I think it would explain a lot.
Inflation may be slowing, but prices haven’t gone back down to where they were, so things don’t feel better than when inflation was high.
They never will. Lower inflation means that prices are rising at a slower rate now, but still rising. Prices going down would be deflation, which most economic theory says would be a complete disaster.
Is election interference not a crime in the US?
Didn’t she get 3 million more votes than Trump? She lost because the whole electoral college thing is undemocratic bullshit.
is there really anyone out there thinking “I care so much about genocide in Palestine that I think I’ll vote for Trump, I’m sure he’ll sort it out” ?
That’s why this guy’s a hero in my books, not because he took a shot at Trump, but because he realized there’s nothing any of us normies can do about the States’ political situation through normal means, so he went above and beyond. He probably spent some time weighing the options as to whom to shoot, and realized Trump was the better pick.
I do wonder how much improvement there would be in the political situation in the US if Fox and the other channels spewing right-wing lies and fearmongering garbage went off the air?
Trump openly said he’d be a dictator and talked about locking up his political opponents, it’s not like anyone is putting words in his mouth. He IS a fascist piece of shit, and I don’t understand how an assassination attempt now makes him any less of a fascist piece of shit.
ancient brain mush guy who is going to lose to the fascist
“ancient guy” is only 2 years older than fascist guy. Also, I don’t understand what’s happening, the world seems to be having shared amnesia about the fact that Trump has been spouting senile and incoherent nonsense for years now?
I mean, if you look at track records, Biden already beat Trump in 100% of previous elections.
I just finished Lost Judgment, he’s probably out prosecuting his own client for a different crime at his own defence appeal as we speak. Oh, I thought you said Takuya Yagami.
Absolute madness, I still don’t understand why the right tried to turn a public health crisis into an issue of freedom and “owning the libs” or whatever.
All they had to do was sell MAGA branded masks and they could have made money while protecting their followers! Hell, they could have branded the vaccine the “freedom jab” and made getting it all about “doing your part” and patriotism. Fucking nutbars.
Sentencing is determined based on character, severity of crime, and likelihood to commit another crime
Surely he’s fucked then? He commits crimes constantly and character-wise, he’s the biggest douchebag in the history of America.
Thinking of his character reminds me of something written by one of my countrymen in 2016:
“Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?”
"A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.
Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.
Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.
There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.
And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down.
So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:
This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss.
After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.
And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created?’ If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set." - Nate White
Justice delayed is justice denied.
This is a witch hunt, fixed trial
He was convicted by 12 New York jurors, some of which were approved by his own defence.
You know it’s Bidens DoJ
The DoJ is a federal organisation, they don’t prosecute state crimes.
I’m not American. How can it be that these Trump supporters are so ignorant of how their own country works?
Yep, yet somehow he’s allowed to run again instead of being behind bars.
There will be insanity if he’s allowed to run at all.
There should be no way for people to participate in a democracy they have attempted to overthrow, and these fuckers are absolutely going to try again. It will be a shitshow. I hope the US justice system comes through, but it will be a very dangerous time for America if Trump and his cronies are not prosecuted for their crimes before the next election.
That’s a confabulation. Also a hallmark of dementia.
