To be honest I assumed most Whitehouse staff are political appointees. If that’s the case he’s looking to fire all the incompetent people he brought on himself. But some may be apolitical.

For me, it’s worked out for plex. What it offered at the time was more than worth the price and I’ve felt a little bad about it being a once and done payment.
That being said they’ve hurt some of the good will with the changes they’ve made, but also I imagine they’re struggling to find a sustainable path for development.
It it’s like the other recent votes, it’s actually republicans turning out to vote for democrats. I think both Florida and Michigan(?) had less democrats and more republicans turning out, meaning that republicans are turning on the party.
Yeah, threatening to veto just means it would eventually need more votes (but I doubt he’d veto it).
In more simple terms, Trump can’t prevent congress from passing laws about tariffs.
All he can do is make it more difficult, by requiring a higher percentage of the legislature vote on it.
If that were the case he wouldn’t be in power anymore. Either enough people don’t understand or don’t believe it.
The issue the OC is talking about isn’t something you can just walk back and take your winnings. Owning the husk of a once great economy isn’t really a great outcome.
I don’t think anyone understands that if he ousts Powell/gets his interest rate lowered, we’re looking at a depression or worse. That kind of economic crisis has the potential to ruin literally anyone, including the wealthy/elites.
I mean, that’s exactly why the checks and balances were set up this way. The founding fathers assumed no one branch would want to concede to another. Really it’s congress fucking it all up right now.
This is what they always do, get you arguing about something that doesn’t matter. Just eats up time and energy about nothing.
Man, you’ve been popping up everywhere recently.
While Harvard does have a big endowment, they are a non-profit. You may not like everything they do, but that doesn’t change how they are incorporated.
Also, attacking folks who were protesting was more a Columbia thing. Harvard has mostly dealt with their protesters more civilly, which might be why Trump and Republicans are coming after them.
Pretty sure you’re talking about foundation and concealer?
I mean the “damned if they dont” is cause everyone is just bending over for him, if everyone fought him he wouldn’t have the resources to fight back.
If we get to the point where the senate convicts him, I think it’s game over. That means that republican party has finally turned on him (meaning they think the public has too).
US is sliding towards authoritarianism, but having the whole country against you is still not something he can overcome.
If this, republican majority impeached him, then the senate would definitely convict. In that case Trump is no longer the president.
The past two times dems held the house, but not the senate, so Republicans in the senate prevented a conviction.
Impeachment means there is evidence of misconduct (at a significant level). Senate conviction means you’re out as president.
I actually think their song for Mashle season 2 might be better - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZN98D5_N4M
Edit: should’ve mentioned the band is Creepy Nuts
What vote are you referencing? Rubio’s appointment?
If they can deport someone without validating their residency status (due process) , what’s to stop them from deporting citizens “on accident”.
Additionally, they’re ignoring the courts (for now). If the courts don’t escalate and/or Trump/Republicans don’t back down, then this is a really worrying precedent to allow and would effectively allow Republicans to “dissappear” anyone they wanted.
Feels like the end of due process and move to effective dictatorship, but others might draw the line somewhere else. What happened at Gitmo was very dictatorship, but wasn’t done to US citizens or people “technically” in the US.
Yeah, but it took 20 years and WWII before things actually rebounded.
That line is pretty fucking slim though.
I also think they left a lot unexplored with the whole concept. Like cut back on the relationship and politics stuff and focus on what it means to be Mickey/clone.
