Really depends on the pub, probably? I’ve never been to one that I liked they were all super noisy.

Put (whole) cashews (500g? 1gk?) on a backing tray in the oven on 180°C for about 45 mins, check and mix every 10-20 minutes so the don’t burn (this goes pretty fast in the end) until brown. While the oven is hot also roast some almonds afterwards (if you wanna you can soak them in (salted or unsalted) water but you don’t have to). We usually do this before or after baking bread / cake / lasagne when the oven is hot anyway. Check out other nuts to taste, I think this should work with hazelnuts as well, not sure about walnuts …

I’m always wondering if these brown “paper” / “cardboard” packaging materials are actually plastic-free (I’m also almost certain they’re since “compostable” packaging is still allowed to contain absurd (20%?) amounts in some jurisdictions). The worst thing is that most come without anything to identify them by so even if some are we’ll never know!

At the cost of whom, though? Milllions of brown people slaving away in the global south and the destruction of the planet. If that “works” for you, cool.

In Germany it’s called “Weißes Rauschen” (so akin to white noise, white rustling / murmuring?). It seems to be both about the sound (rauschen) and the visuals (weiß).

Apparently the paper card is still valid, there’s the online thing and you can also put it in you advance directive(? that sounds made up, I mean "Patient*innenverfügung):

Up until now here in Germany we had a “system” that was a paper(!) card you put in your wallet if you were ok with donating your organs. That’s obvioisly not an ideal system and Germany has far to few donors. We now moved to an online system and being Germany it’s (as far as I’ve heard, I haven’t tried it yet - which might be a sign that this is not going to be a great solution) is super complicated and convoluted. So basically even worse than the piece of paper in your wallet (seems impossible but for Germany business as usual when it comes to anything digital).

Personally this would be one of the very few things were I would be ok with something being opt-out instead of opt-in but I don’t see that happening.

Yeah, it would be awesome to have something like this. The only thing I can think of us Liberapay but I think it only handles donations you can’t create content there (and it probably doesn’t integrate with the Fediverse).
