Obama’s inauguration had the coldest conditions since Reagan’s and he still had a massive crowd. Trump is a pathetic little coward who’s scared to death of a small crowd size and everyone making fun of him by doing that gesture Obama made in his convention speech.

Both are quite plausible explanations but I’d guess he’s more terrified of a small crowd than a shooter since given the security precautions, the first is far more likely than the second.

The only way I can think of is to secede and have Californians pay the amount they would pay in federal taxes to the State. At that point, the State could modify those tax rates and laws to better reflect the needs of the people and the State.

Oh, then you mean there is some public record somewhere that he actually joined the Democratic party when he ran in the 2016 election? Maybe a registration form? (link?) Because I don’t think he did. From what I read, he didn’t actually join or register as a Dem, but the party didn’t try to stop him from running as a Dem, and he just verbally said he was a Democrat when asked, which I guess was good enough.

According to this article, which goes through the timeline of his party affiliation(s), it wasn’t until Bernie’s 2020 run that the Democratic party formally wrote up a rule that a candidate had to be a member of the party, and only then did they require him and the other candidates to sign a document officially declaring themselves as Democrats.

This article, as best as I can tell, confirms that in 2016, he didn’t actually join the Democratic party, but he stated Democratic party as his affiliation on the statement of candidacy for his political campaign, and also verbally said to people who asked that he was a Democrat.

I kept hearing conflicting stories on whether he actually joined the party or only promised to become a Democrat if he won the candidacy.

I used to think a candidate had to at least be a member of a party to run in its primaries, but Bernie corrected my misunderstanding.

Biden won it. I don’t think an incumbent president has ever lost their primary when running for re-election, at least not in modern times when they actually had primaries that people could vote in. It’s on Biden for deciding to run again.

My OP point is, stop reacting to click bait headlines in just the way they meant for you to, Actually read enough to get an understanding of what the bills are and what’s in them, what happened during the process they went through, and why various people acted how they did before jumping to conclusions. Stop falling for dirty political tactics designed to keep magats in power and promote their christian nationalist agendas while keeping the rest of us fighting with each other so they can keep getting reelected.

Anyone who could vote and says they care about the rights of trans people better have voted for Harris or you have no standing on this issue.

It’s called facing reality and dealing with it, which isn’t nearly as much fun as mindlessly bashing oversimplified interpretations of click-bait headlines. Sure, it’s nice to play the game online where you pick one issue and ignore all the other issues no matter how important they are, but in the real world you have to do the best you can do. The consequences of vetoing the bill would be huge, while one of the articles posted elsewhere in the comments here[1] talks about the number of children who could be affected and that there are very few circumstances where the provision in the bill would have an impact (e.g. it only disallows treatments that would result in sterilization, which doesn’t include puberty blockers, etc.). But you’re obviously not interested in seriously considering the details and practicalities of the real world situation, just enjoying railing against Biden, so have fun with that.
